45 amp shower pull switch in chrome

This is a light switch. It's not suitable for a shower fitting.

how is the 15 year guarantee works?

don't know about the 15 year warranty but mine is much better than the one from homebase which i replaced with this one. it looks better and is far cheaper and more to the point still works.

What size is the base. It says 14cm x 13.6. ( 6 inches x 6 inches approx )That seems quite big. Are these measurements correct.

Hi Janmac, just checked my item, which I have not put up yet. Mine is the 10amp 2-way pull cord switch sold by Bamford Trading and is the Knightsbridge 8300. The exact size is a diameter of 74mm and a height of 36mm, so don't know where you got your measurements from. Believe me this a standard size and looks good. Hope this helps. Derek

Can this be used replace a fitting where fan and light come on together, and how far apart are the ceiling mounting screw holes?

Yes it can be used to replace the old fitting . The screw mounting holes are around 2inch apart.
