My friend (52) just lost his mom. He says he was a mama's boy. Is this an appropriate bereavement gift?

I think it would work very well as a bereavement gift. Something he could keep forever and always be reminded of his mother.

Tried to buy this with extra 1-day shipping charges on Thu, 8 May. Estimated delivery date was Tue, 13 May??? Why?

Hello,Amazon allows us to offer two shipping services, standard and expedited. Our expedited packages are shipped by FedEx 2 Day, and Amazon has the estimated delivery up to 3 days because orders placed later in the day could be shipped the following shipping day (therefore, you would receive it 3 shipping days after ordering). Sorry for any confusion, and please reply if you have any further questions.KariDavlins/The Woods Gifts

Does the figurine rest on the pedestal or is it attached?

No pedestal. They are attached. It is one piece. Have a great day! Beth
