Beautiful vibrant & soft
These are a delight to work with. You can layer the colours and the colours can be as vibrant or as soft as you wish. I highly recommend the faber-castell products, they really provide a wonderful pop to a black & white drawing or for a complete soft but vibrant drawing. You can layer these beautifully & they are extremely responsive to pressure to create colour. They are difficult to sharpen & I would recommend a manual hand crank pencil sharpener as I used an electric sharpener & hand sharpener but both were ruining the pencils until I found a mechanical crank sharpener.

Good quality pastel pencils
Really liked using these. Good depth of colour was achieved and fine lines to outline or shade were easy to produce. Great range of colours in a compact tin with eraser and blender

Worth the money
I took the plunge and bought these pastel pencils. I was not disappointed, they are gorgeous. I don’t think I have the skills to use them to their full potential yet but am certainly enjoying using them.

Great colour and easy to use
This is the first time I have used pastel pencils, and I am really pleased with the results! They are “chalky”, and do wear down very quickly, but you can build up layers nicely, blend easily, and even get very defined markings if that’s what you want (whiskers for example). It is easy to go over a colour with a different colour if you need to change something. I’m looking forward to creating more artwork with these pastel pencils!!

A great deal!
I ordered these with my fingers crossed behind my back, I needed them for a course. The price seemed too good to be true. The tin of 60 arrived the next day, well packaged and sealed. I opened the tin and checked the numbers against the FC chart; all present with just one pencil a little shorter than the others, not sure why but am not going to complain. Still not convinced I tested a number of the colours against the same brand purchased individually from an art store. I am by no means an expert in Pitt pastel pencils but the coverage, texture, colour and feel were the same from each supplier. I have uncrossed my fingers and am very happy with my purchase. I have given 3 stars for softness as FC Pitt pastel pencils are known generally to be on the hard and chalky side.

Nice pencils with a good range of colours.
Arrived well packaged and on time. I'm still getting to grips with them, because I'm usually a coloured pencil artist, and these are a whole different ball game in the way they are used. Loving the way they blend and they are also very forgiving, in that they can take many layers and it's easy to correct any mistakes. The only downside, and this isn't a fault with the pencils, is that they are difficult to sharpen without a lot of the pencil disappearing in the process, because the 'lead' is so soft. I've tried quite a few sharpeners and even one specifically for pastel pencils, to no avail. Now using a blade and sandpaper to do the job, which is time consuming and can spoil the flow of work. If you are prepared to put up with that though, I would recommend them.
