Product Description Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro star in Limitless, a paranoia-fuelled action thriller that’ll blow your mind. Unsuccessful writer Eddie Morra’s life is transformed by NZT, a top-secret “smart drug” that allows him to use 100% of his brain and to become the perfect version of himself. But when Eddie’s enhanced abilities attract unwanted attention from the rich and powerful alike, he soon realises they’ll stop at nothing to uncover his secret. .co.uk Review Depending on your take-away of the visual inventiveness and jam-packed plot that drives Limitless to peaks and valleys of preposterous fun, drugs are either a terrible scourge or the fundamental solution to all of life's problems. Limitless isn't exactly a morality tale, but the made-up drug that turns Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) from a scuzzy loser into a master of the universe does become a metaphor for ambition, menace, devastation, and ultimate success. Eddie is a writer who can't write, his girlfriend (Abbie Cornish) just dumped him, and his squalid lifestyle has driven him to the breaking point. After a chance meeting with his mysterious ex-brother-in-law, he's offered change in the form of a little transparent button, a pill code-named NZT that allows the user to access 100 percent of their brain. After he pops it, Eddie is transformed. Everything he's ever heard, seen, glanced at, or passed by becomes neatly ordered in his mind. He has total recall, total access to knowledge both known and unknown, and he understands exactly what to do. Without the ingenious visual effects that frequently push the bounds of innovation, our view of the alteration of Eddie's drug-induced reality would fail utterly. When his synapses snap from every new hit, the sparkling blue of Bradley Cooper's eyes pops off of the screen, the colours and textures of his reality ripple and zoom with his every move. Of course he needs more of the drug to maintain his progression, not to mention his very life--remember, kids, drugs are addictive! The movie throws tangled clumps of plot threads against each other in a whizzing mass that incorporates Russian gangsters, shadowy surveillance figures, cops, lawyers, and a couple of murder mysteries. It's a hurtling progression of narrative tangents that often echo the physical and mental extremes Eddie experiences when he's either on or off the drug. Sex, society, and money are big parts of Eddie's newfound brainpower, and he exploits them all. The money element leads Eddie to a big-shot investor, played with twinkling irony by Robert De Niro. The sparring matches between Cooper and De Niro are some of the best parts of the convoluted and manic pace that drives Limitless inexorably onward. Abbie Cornish is relegated to the sidelines far too much, and the suspension of disbelief required to simply maintain stride with the movie's frenzied velocity is often exhausting. But there are some bigger themes that director Neil Burger and writer Leslie Dixon try to sustain in spite of repeated absurdities meant to be accepted at face value. Eddie's actions are both vile and redemptive, and Cooper gives a rousing performance as he bounces from being contemptible to irresistible, sometimes all at once. Fortunately, Limitless is itself redeemed by the nifty visuals that often do evoke the effects of a drug that promises perfect clarity. It's best to just forget the ludicrous lack of coherence and enjoy it as a wildly entertaining trip on a perfect drug that offers the potential for payback and infinite salvation. --Ted Fry

Excellent for Film Studies
I utilised this movie when teaching on the YouTube University Student Federal Service Jessica Nel jessicathinkscreative TM. The students loved the movie and so do I. Bradley Cooper electric blue eyes and Robert De Niro powerful performance as well as the complex themes surrounding neuroplasticity and the fast paced energy of the film... from underground crime to the top of Wall Street.. brilliant movie.

A creative film when we need one.
These days film companies shovel out the same s*** over and over again just to make a quick buck. Quality is valued less and less because of the huge amout of idiots in the world that pay to watch films like Twilight, as a result Hollywood etc can get away with all the s*** but now and then when their sat at the idea table thinking about a new film one modern-day Braveheart will say " We should make a good film, with a good story and budget!!" .This is one of those films. It has a intense and intriguing narrative with superb acting, high budget and originality. The story is set in the future where"Loopers" are paid to kill people that are sent to them from the future then dispose of them cleanly, this allows people of the further future to gurantee that their victims will never be found and they can remain innocent. Then Joseph Gordon-Levitt is tasked with killing his future self and unfortunately for him his future self (Bruce Willis) is an extremely large badass and so J.G.L fails to kill Bruce Willis. And so the immersive thriller begins.I really enjoyed this film and in my opinion it's one of the best of 2012. I would recommend this to anyone with a taste for thrillers, sci-if, good acting and story or something different and original.

Drugs Kill...
This is an anti-drugs movie in disguise. Don't be fooled by the highs, the lows mean certain death, and it's shown here in graphic detail. There's a horrid scene as well where he licks the bloodof a dead guy off the floor in order to get a hit...because he's run out of his fix....So, this wonder drug NZT, allows access to 100% of the brain's capacity and suddenly whole newworlds open up, utter hyper-focus, total memory recall, incredible levels of motivation, near 3D vision, andreally blue eyes, all of a sudden, everything makes perfect sense... and we see the opposite character of the opening sequence in the movie of a bummed-out, washed up loser, going nowhere fast in life... but there's one thing this drug can't give its hooked taker - and that's instinct.... pure instinct is down to something else and he needs it... when he's about to jump off his new apartment balcony, he stops and has a re-think...This film requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, there just is no known drug that can do these things forthe otherwise allegedly useless human brain, the danger here is that the guy uses drugs to turn his life around - and that's why the underlying message of this film - is clearly anti-drugs - don't do it... it sent Mr Attwood to an early grave and nearly killed Eddie's first wife, she looked 20 years older than she really was when he finally catches up with her...But that's not the entire picture, we do see the main character achieve many things while on this drug, and start up a whole new life - but even then it's not without its pitfalls, he's not dreaming, but he may as well be...it just doesn't happen like that...the lows always outweigh the highs...drugs are not beautiful as Noel Gallagher says they are... he makes over two million on the stock exchange, he's sleeping with lots of women, fighting off gangsters, he meets a big-time investment banker (played by woefully miscast robert de niro) and he plans to merge (takeover) another bigger company (but the owner of that was also an NZT addict and it killed him) and the deal fails...The movie drifts in and out, is fast/slow, technicolour to drabness - to show the effects of the drug (and drugs in general), and that part of the movie works well, this is good viewing and definitely worth watching... Brad Cooper is good choice for the lead and seems very real.. as if this could happen to you or me... and it does...lots of people do take drugs - but the downside is always worse... and you will run out of them or out of money to buy them... and it could cost you your life if you don't get that next fix... circumstances are always the biggest dictators... the state of Eddie's ex-wife proves it... but this is the movie...a dvd called Limitless to describe the limitless capacity that this alleged drug can give people.... but in reality there's no such thing.. (After Fight Club came out, loads of inner-city, underground 'fight clubs' emerged - people do take movies too literally and act on them and that's the danger).By the end of the movie, Eddie has turned his life around, and is now drug free, has written a book and he's asenator..which fortifies the movie - if you want to turn things around - you don't need drugs at all... and that's the underlying message of this movie...

Brilliant film
Got this as a present for a friend and having watched it myself it's a brilliant film. Cooper has the ability to be a great actor with the right script and this film had that, while i found it confusing at times the first time round it made much more sense the second time round. It was an intriguing story and concept that kept me entertained throughout the film with plenty of twists. Enjoyable film you could easily find yourself watching again and again. As for Cooper as an actor the sky could be the limit, he has seemingly come into his own starring in films such as the hangover, the a-team and this among others. All enjoyable films depending on your own personal taste

Good Movie shame about the un-skippable ads and disk options
Once you get over the inevitable problems associated with time travel in movies, plus a few of the other features of the situation loopers find themselves in this is an above par sci-fi movie with engaging characters and a good mix of suspense and action, even a little romance.Unfortunately the bozos who mastered the BD thought it was acceptable to put four unskippable trailers for other movies plus an advert for Maltesers which you must sit through every time you play the disk. The main menu button and the next track buttons are disallowed so the only way to get past these is to wazz up the fast forward at the beginning of each ad.The menus are also badly done as the selected option is highlighted via a black background but since the white text is already on a dark background it is hard to see what you are selecting.Turning on subtitles also suffers from this poor colour scheme, and is necessary because the soundtrack goes from inaudible whispers to loud action scenes.
