Turtle Wax 52811 Redline Car Wheel & Rim Cleaner Restorer 500ml

Fantastic even for the money. I never thought to use this stuff before my brother borrowed my car and had it detailed before returning it. The wheels were shining in a way I’d never been able to get them. So I tried this wheel cleaner. Used this brand as it’s been around for years and it was so much less money than others I’d been reviewing. I wondered what the difference could be and whether it would actually work. It did though. My wheels looked amazing. If you use it on newer wheels without any corrosion starting I think the results would be even better. My wheels have a fair bit of corrosion already so the all the dust doesn’t all come off fully. But i don’t scrub them thoroughly after application and before I wash off the treatment. I leave it for about 10mins before washing of whilst wiping off with a cloth. Don’t wet the the rims before applying treatment as it doesn’t work as well. I spray on rims first then wash the car and then rinse every off together.Very pleased.Steve

I bought this - quite skeptical of other turtle was products, like their waxes - but I saw this was on offer and was marginally cheaper than what I'd usually pay for this kind of product, compared to the likes of autofinesse, and meguires counterparts/equal (Usually over the £10 margin). so I thought id give it a go!first off, the consistency of the product is quite thick and more like a gel when compared to the more waterbased products that I've tried in the past. some people have said that with this product you should just leave it on, but I'd recommend agitating the product into the allows with a wheel brush or large detailing brush to get the best results and maximum clean. for the most part, the product got the vast majority of even the most stubborn brake dust off my alloys leaving them clean and shiny, however, some of the really stubborn areas did need a rigorous scrubbing to get it off.Okay so the pros and cons of this product are:Pros:- Quickly breaks down light dustings of brake dust and dirt from the alloys- leaves a great, deep shine (i wish I took photos of my wheels but take my word for it)- very good value for money product, at £6 a bottle you won't get a better result for the price!- Affordable and Good ConsistencyCons:- The Smell! - to put it bluntly the smell is not the best. however it's not the worst product of this type in terms of smell, it hits the back of your throat and you end up having to cover your mouth or your nose especially if using this product for a lot of wheels, or if applying a lot of product - however don't let you put this off the product!- Runs out quite quick - for a budding detailer or someone who keeps pride in your car, you may go through this product quite quickly, as previously mentioned the liquid is quite thick (and more like a gel) meaning more of the product is needed in order to spread over an area. However, for the price, you can't go wrong and could probably order 2 of these for the price of any competing brand.- Colour - although this isn't a major flaw of the product, for an extra detailed review it's worth a mention. the colour does make a fair reddish colour when breaking down the brake dust, however when compared to auto-finenesses fallout remover spray (which works as a great remover of brake dust I must add), it lacks in colour, as the competing product does make a VERY dark purple/red, almost upon instant contact with the brake dust. however, this is no biggie as the turtle wax spray does remove brake dust just as well.- stubborn/set in brake dust - the only major drawback of this cleaner compared to others is the removal of very stubborn brake dust, that has essentially been caked onto the rim or alloy. after detailing my mates car, and then my car (a 2005 reg car) the caked brake dust on my car required a lot of scrubbing to remove it.Summary (or for those that can't be bothered to read my long-winded review)overall it is a very good product and provides VERY good value for money. it effectively removes brake dust, however with more stubborn areas of caked in brake dust it may require a bit of elbow grease to remove.However the cons of this product should not put you off especially if you're just looking for a cheap and easy product, for those who clean their cars every now and then., it works very well.

I was quite pleased with this. I like that it is in a spray bottle and does not need to be decanted and brushed on.I had all 4 wheels off my car and sprayed both sides of the wheels with this - they all started off pretty dirty and caked in brake-dust, especially on the insides. I did give it a fairly gentle brushing with a standard wheel cleaning brush, to spread it around and ensure every groove and place was covered. I left it to turn red and then washed it off with a standard water hose and a light brushing. I left it around 15-20 minutes before washing off.I found that it sprayed easily - but to try and cover every square cm of the wheels just by spraying will use a lot more than liberally spraying and then finishing off with a brush.I did not find the smell particulary powerful or unpleasant.The wheels came up really nice. The outsides look excellent. There were a few awkward crevices not quite clean on the inside, and I actually used Wonder Wheels (as I already had some left over) to go over the insides of the wheels again.Then 5 coats of Poorboys sealant on each wheel.I have taken off one star because it did require a quick second going over to get all the dirt off - but I have not yet found a wheel cleaner that cleans everything in one go.I setimate I have used about 60% of the bottle contents and for the price I could happily use a full bottle every 3-5 months.

Great wheel cleaner probably one of the best I’ve used better than most more expensive cleaners would be great if come in 5L.

This stuff is great the only bad thing is that it smells awful.
