Brilliant product. Its usefulness is obvious - there are so many times we just need to write something down and a pen is not always available to hand - well, now it will be. The pen is very sturdy and I do not think there is much chance of it coming loose as it requires a pretty firm pull to release it. Along with the telescopic pen on a small keyring you also get a large (main) keyring and 3 additional refills. I wish I'd seen this before Christmas as it is creatively/interestingly packaged and useful for pretty much anyone (BTW, it does look extremely difficult to open but you just need to insert a sharp knife between any space you find between the clear plastic and thick cardboard and run it round - it just kind of slices open!).

I had a similar one years ago, and I recall it had great quality with very smooth retraction of the pen and the snap of the cap, but I lost it. So I bought this one hoping it is the same. This is a great deal including an extra key ring, and also 3 spare pen inserts. One slight disappointment is that when I first pull the pen out, the cap cylinder part detached from the end part, pulled off along with the pen. I fixed it by using super glue to glue it back, and it seems to be okay for now, but some day over time the glue will wear off and it will come off again. But this is not a major issue I guess, not like I am using this for surgery. The pen write well, smooth with enough friction. The retraction feels a bit stiff, but it might loosen up over time. For the price I think I have no complaint

This little telescopic pen extends from 61.5 mm when stowed in its cap (not incl the ring) to 120 mm for writing, and it has a diameter of 7 mm. Yes the ink cartridges are small at 40 mm overall and the ink tube (30 mm) is only just over half filled but its ideal as an emergency backup for occasional use and takes up hardly any room in an EDC pouch.

It's so nearly exactly what I needed, and nicely designed, but the cartridges have a problem with ink flow: After a few sentences, the ink dries up, and you have to wait, shake, swear, etc., for a minute or so until the ink slooooowly reaches the tip again. Alternatively just leave the pen lying on its side for five minutes. Such a shame, it's a great little pen, but if you want to write for more than a minute at a time, it's not up to the job.

While on face value it's easy to dismiss as a cheap stocking filler which I think is how it was received by a family member on their birthday. I bought two, one for me and one for my Brother in Law. I personally felt like the product was good value, not cheap but sturdy and a great must have attachment to any key chain, manbag, handbag, car keys, machine gun, tank or knuckle duster. *The last 3 items are not in my possession. Thankfully. You literally never know when a birthday card or contract needs to be signed in an emergency on the road or in a layby or supermarket car park on the way to your friends house.... yes yes that actually happened. Buy it now and your future self will thank you. I will probably buy a few more at the end of the year as Christmas Presents. Great idea.

Handy to have in pocket for handy writing

Writes well, doesn’t smudge. Small and neat. Seems quite robust,, time will tell. Also comes with three refills.

PLEASE NOTE: It is now May 2017, and this is an ENTIRELY different review from the original one I'd posted in December 2014. When I originally wrote a review of this pen I gave it one star because about two months after buying it, it disappeared from my key chain — cap and all, leaving only the completely-intact ring behind. To me, this indicated that the METAL cap broke off the ring which would be a pretty serious engineering flaw. I sent two emails to the manufacturer and got no response from them at all which lead me to believe that they had no interest in addressing the issue or replacing my pen. So I wrote a pretty bitter review about it. About four months later (roughly April 2015) a small package arrived at my house. For some reason I tossed the package in my desk and promptly forgot about it for another two months. When I finally re-discovered it and opened it, I found a replacement pen from the manufacturer. There was no note or anything inside, just the pen. Not having anything to lose I hooked it up to my keychain and it became part of my EDC. It's now almost two years later, the pen is still on my keychain (totally functional), and I only just realized now that I never updated my review. @^&#. The pen is actually quite good. I have been using this pen for almost two years and I have never had a problem with it. It never falls off my keychain and always works when I need it to. At best, like any other pen I might have to give it a little squiggle or two to get the ink moving after it's been not in use for awhile, but that's hardly unique to this pen. I never had a problem with the writing angle or having the pen fall out of the cap like other reviewers here have reported. In fact, if anything the pen was a little difficult to get out of the cap. The pen writes smoothly enough and I had no problem with the occasional vertical writing (holding a paper against a wall to sign my name, for example). The feel of the pen is quite sturdy for what it is. The slimness of the pen takes a bit of getting used to but not terribly so. My previous issue with the pen falling off the ring had to have been a manufacturing defect, a hairline crack in the cap that went undetected by everyone (including me) and I just happened to be the unlucky one to get that one. After using this pen for the past two years (on the same ink cartridge!) it's never exhibited any defects. I use this pen primarily for signing log books while geocaching and I've actually been recommending this pen to my fellow geocachers for the better part of the past 18 months without even realizing the contradiction between my previous review and my recommendations, so I hereby officially apologize to MANGO International for that. Buy this pen.

Menzione d'onore alla scatolina a tenuta stagna che lo contiene, robusta, ben fatta e soprattutto utilissima! Per evitare altra gente che scrive robe del tipo "tempo x giorni e l'ho già persa bla bla bla sconsigliata!", istruzioni: - NON reinseritela nel suo cappuccio DOPO averla richiusa su se stessa, altrimenti non si aggancia giusta perchè non va abbastanza in profondità e finisce che la perdete e vi lamentate; - con la penna ancora allungata afferrate tra le dita il primo dei cilindretti di estensione (quello che ha la punta della biro, per intenderci) e infilate la punta nel cappuccio, facendo quel minimo di pressione dovreste sentire un "clic" - con la punta saldamente inserita nel cappuccio ora richiudete la biro su se stessa - godetevela ogni volta che vi serve Consegna Amazon impeccabile e pure un giorno in anticipo

C'est le 2eme que j'achète. J'ai hélas perdu l'ancien qui avait quelques années et qui fonctionnait toujours aussi bien. Ce n'est vraiment pas un hasard si j'ai recommandé le même modèle. Le prix est élevé mais il se justifie par la qualité. Le stylo est réellement très pratique à utiliser en porte-clef ou à l'intérieur d'une sacoche. L'écriture est bonne, je n'ai jamais eu de problème d'encre séchée. Il prend peu de place et une fois déplié on l'a bien en main. Pas besoin de le dévisser, il suffit de tirer dessus pour le sortir, c'est très pratique (voir la vidéo jointe à ce commentaire). C'est du costaud. Il est également fourni avec 3 recharges. Bref, c'est exactement ce qui correspond à mon besoin : il est très peu encombrant mais on peut compter sur lui quand on en a besoin, même au bout de plusieurs années. C'est un article de qualité que je ne peux que conseiller.
