Keen Newport H2 review
My third pair of Newports. I’ve worn one pair out in two years and I walk a lot of miles as I love hiking and backpacking. My app tells me I average about 11-12 miles a day over a year. Use them all year round for walking around town, going to the pub, playing golf, hiking on trails in the mountains, etc. In winter I team them with waterproof socks.Pluses: extremely comfortable hiking sandals, very good toe protection, very durable and long-lasting. Fit true to size. The elastic tightener is reliable, doesn’t accidentally loosen and holds the foot in the footbed. Dry out quickly. Thick soles give loads of cushioning on rough ground. Can be washed clean easily when they get muddy.Negatives: Footbed is dimpled to aid grip and ventilation. When new it’s a little abrasive so I wear those invisible/ankle socks to reduce friction. Like all sandals little bits of stone can sneak in so I need to stop walking and give them a shake. Neither are serious issues.Personally I find driving a car when wearing them is ok but thick soles mean some adjustment to the driver’s seat is needed. They suit me perfectly and I trust them.

Perfect for Kayaking
Good fit, sizing seems spot on. Very tough soles and uppers dry really quick. Comfortable to wear and adjusts easily. Should think they would be good for walking over rough ground so very versatile. Recommended

Good quality
Good quality walking sandal which looks and feels really robust, like it will be very durable. Supremely comfortable and lightweight once you have got it on, with an easy drawstring to set the tightness. I have only given four stars due to the fact these feels a little tight, I would have gone one size larger had I realised, but I already have another pair of Keen summer walking shoes and these were on the generous side, so felt confident buying my own size 11. Another minus point is they are very hard to get on, as the rear ankle strap is not very elastic; these would certainly benefit from some means of adjustment, though I stress that once they are on your feet, they are very comfortable. These are good for moderately rough terrain and have already used them for several full day outings without any problem, proving to give good protection, while also being very flexible and giving good grip on all surfaces.

As advertised
Well made and comfortable to wear.Great summer sandal should give a few seasons use.Easiest to put on with shoehorn as elastic back strap fairly tight for comfort

My first pair of Keen walking sandals
I needed to replace my old pair of Merrell sandals which had given really good service. Having not been able to find a pair of Merrells did some research and decided upon the Keen Newports - must say I am really happy as they have been comfortable from day one ( started by wearing them round the house, then increased the length of my walks each day). Today I have had them for six hours with no issues. Found them on Amazon for a good price - I do agree with one or two earlier reviewers that the heel strap could benefit from a Velcro addition to allow the sandal to be put on more easily. Overall very pleased.

Comfortable and supportive sandal
Very supportive sandal. Bought it and went immediately on holiday. So comfortable and no "wearing in" required. Toe cover meant that it functioned where I might otherwise have needed to use a trainer - but was so much cooler to wear. Only concern for a buyer is that I needed to get a size larger than normal to get my foot into the sandal easier.

Foot entry now very narrow and sole delaminates
Having purchased circa 10 pairs of these (UK size 11) in the past, the last two pairs have been very poor quality. On the penultimate pair the sole parted company from the upper in about 2 months and in the last pair the foot entry was so small my foot would not pass through. Very disappointing after 8 years of complete satisfaction. Now changed back to Shimano Fishing shoes

Poor last lenght shoe sizes
The Company need to check their conversion chart from USA to UK, Having been in shoe manufacture for 35 years the seizing is all wrong. It took 3 attempts to get the correct fit and stick length.I tried a UK 6, far to short in length ,then a UK 61/2 still no increase in length and finally a 7 which fitted my size 6 feet fine. The actual manufacture of the product is fine but you need to be aware of their sizing,
