Looks great once assembled and is sturdy, however this is the most difficult flat pack I have ever had to assemble. The instructions were quite basic and I believe that 2 dowel pieces may have been missing. This didn't phase me (eventually!) and using my black belt in DIY I managed to overcome these small adversities.Once assembled it looks great. The wood effect is of good quality, and looks better than most veneers. The cushions slightly thin,but is still comfortable to sit on.If it wasn't for the difficulty assembling I'd give top marks. Tip for buyers: 1) assemble the back first 2) don't tighten anything until ALL pieces together 3) if you have a friend for 5 mons, this might shave off half the assembly time.

Only reason I'm giving this item 4 stars is because the picture shows it holding five pairs of shoes side by side, I must assume these are childrens shoes, I can get 4 pairs though and I can set pairs of shoes ontop of one another to get more in so not worth any major complaints.Very easily put together if you are used to flat pack furniture, I did it by myself. Seems very sturdy and fits nicely in the small space I had for it.

The final straw was when two - not just one - of the screws provided to attach the hinges snapped in half, when only partly screwed in.Extra tools needed and not documented: rubber mallet to make sure everything fits together snugly. Really short screwdriver for tightening the fasteners. Bandages for the finger cut on the rough metal of the screw-in plugs and the fasteners that tighten them. Ibuprofen for the headache figuring it all out, and the backache from having to constantly turn the darn thing over to find all the places to put the tighteners. A psychic for understanding the instructions, the placement of the tightening holes somewhere other than the picture in the instructions, and for knowing that you REALLY shouldn't do what the guide tells you and install the tighteners ('B') until the whole thing is assembled and aligned.The swear box just made a killing.In case anyone else is daft enough to buy this, do hold off on putting the tighteners in, because once they are in they are impossible to get out, not by unscrewing, prying or asking gravity for help. Don't use the screws supplied with the kit. Check the laminated edges of each component to a) find the number of each piece (though they have likely fallen off in transit), and b) to make sure you assemble the laminated edge facing the front (too cheap to laminate all edges, apparently).I will never, ever buy anything again from this manufacturer.

While the completed product is pretty, sturdy, and of a nice size, the instructions provided with this DIY item are basic pictures with absolutely no clear method.Parts of the construction process were physically impossible if following the ambiguous instructions, and there were areas in which I had to omit some screws and fixings. The pins on the feet are low quality and bent easily, and there are no indents or provided way to create indents for their attachment. They are also far to short to hold and hammer simultaneously. As a result, in the end I decided to ditch the feet altogether.The cushion is attached to the wooden lid by two strips of pre-attached velcro - the ones provided to me did not line up correctly.The quality of the wood seems nice, and the cushion is comfortable. If you're provided with a decent version of the DIY kit then I assume it would not be such a bad investment, but that seems like luck-of-the-draw.

Brilliant quality, fast arrival, only one thing that let it down and that’s how you’ve got to assemble it, the instructions are Really easy to follow but the way you’ve got to do it is fiddly and a little tricky on some bits other than that perfect, thank you!

I put it together in under an hour. You'll need a short handled screwdriver and a hammer. It's just what I wanted, fits my size 6 shoes and was sturdy enough for me to sit on. The compartment under the seat is great for shoe horns too.

Lovely shoe storage piece , detailed instructions and every piece is marked with number which makes it easy to assemble , additional storage under the lid is great for all your accessories .Natural colour of wood will go with any colour combination of your room .

The instructions were not that easy to follow and some screws need tightening once shelves are in place so you need a much smaller screwdriver. Looks smart and great storage idea in the top shelf
