Of all the pregnancy books I was given, I found this by far the most useful. I loved the combination of western and eastern approaches to pregnancy, it was really accessible and fun to read. I found other pregnancy books really dense and dry, but this one has just exactly what you need, without going on and on. It is neither too medical, nor too fluffy, it strikes exactly the right balance It was my constant companion and is now dog eared, ready for the next round. Definitely a must by if you are pregnant.

Maybe overkill if you already have Baby Making Bible
I love Emma Cannon really rate her Baby Making Bible book so I bought this in eager anticipation when the pregnancy test said + but I have to be honest and say I was disappointed. The first section is all about aiding conception - something we'd already achieved! Plus it was repetition from her other book which is simply didn't need. The next sections are useful, going through each trimester and ideas of how to deal with common issues such as morning sickness and heart burn, but it felt it was lightweight. What I found the most useful was the 'fourth trimester' section after the arrival of my little one helping with how to prepare body for breast feeding and recover from pregnancy.I hate to be critical as I loved the Baby Making Bible but if you already have that, then perhaps you don't need this. There are also other pregnancy books I'd recommend before this one. However if you don't have her first book and want a rounded view on how to look after yourself this is a well written researched book.

No point in buying this if you've already got 'the Baby Making Bible'
I already owned Emma Cannon's other book 'the Baby Making Bible' and I excitedly bought this when I found out that I was pregnant. The Baby Making Bible is a fantastic book but this is basically just a disappointing rehash of that book.

A must read
First Emma cannon book I have read and I think it's absolutely fantastic! Great for if your newly pregnant and had really helped me understand how different foods have different affects on my body. A must read if your pregnant

Great pregnancy companion!
After using Emma's first book `The Baby Making Bible' to help me conceive I'm delighted to have her next book as a companion through this pregnancy! This book is packed with useful tips from breathing, to yoga positions, to recipes and much more. The book is interwoven with beautiful examples from Emma's own life and other pregnant women that it feels like having a positive friend with you at all times - a much needed antidote to the overwhelming advice and negative stories from well meaning family, friends and strangers! It's an empowering read!

What a relief!
You and Your Bump is just what I need at this particular moment in time. Being pregnant myself, I find reading this book is rather like having a very knowledgable, reliable and trustworthy friend beside the bed. This book takes you step by step through your pregnancy, how your body will change, why, what you might expect and with extremely helpful suggestions on what to eat (delicious recipes) and how to excercise. I wish it had been out when I was pregnant with my first!

Interesting although one advice in there TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT!
It is an interesting book but I have been worried about the advice given at one point in the book to include alfalfa sprouts in a salad. Sprouts (by which I mean sprouted seeds or beans and not Brussels sprouts) should NEVER been eaten during pregnancy. They carry a high risk of infection via bacteria (because of the way they are grown in water, bacteria develop very quickly). I caught an infection from eating them in my first pregnancy and because of it my baby daughter died. So please be careful about that.I have contacted Emma Cannon regarding that advice and I am hoping that it will be changed. By the meantime, be weary.

what a great book !
Having bought Emma Cannons "Baby Making Bible" at the beginning of my first pregnancy I was excited to see this come out now I am onto my second, and it is just as good. I love her relaxed but informative take on it all and it is such a relief to read a book that helps you trust your body and instincts rather than being prescriptive. I have read everything from "What to expect..." to Ina May and found this to be the ideal blend of hard science and deep thinking we could all benefit from. Recipes delicious too !!
