This is the only product that is keeping my nail varnish in place. Iv tried others to test them out & only lasted 2/3 days. This stuff makes them last for at least 5. I now know this is a keeper. I bought the little 2 pack for hols just so I can do my nails when I'm away but this stuff works.

I have psoriasis, which also affects my nails. If you’re fortunate enough not to be aware of what psoriasis does to nails, it leaves them with awful grooves and pits, prone to delaminating. A dermatology nurse told me that painting nails is a great way to disguise the damage, and a good base coat is essential. I went through so many brands from Essie to Zoya, before trying this one, and it soon became my favourite.First of all, let me point out that yes, it looks green in the bottle, but it goes on clear. Slap several coats on - it does not look green at all.As with all Nails Inc new style bottles the lid doubles as a finger rest to make application a bit steadier. Pull off the silver lid to reveal the actual bottle cap. The brush is wide which means you can put it on quite quickly, although you do lose some precision with a brush this width.I don’t know if I can honestly say my nails are in better condition as a result of this, but prior to discovering it, I was using OPI’s Nail Envy, which I think was very drying. My nails do look healthier, but it may just be because I’ve knocked the OPI out of my routine. I’d like to think it’s this product helping out!You will need a couple of coats of this to get maximum effect from it, particularly if your nails are damaged like mine. The consistency seems very thin once it’s on. I often wear it as a stand-alone, because it’s not very shiny, and I can feel quite self conscious about drawing attention to my hands if my psoriasis is bad. My main bugbear with it is that it just does not last. Put as many coats as you like on - within two days, most of it will be gone, or heavily chipped. It doesn’t have the staying power a base coat should. It chips in the expected places, at the tops and edges first of all. I suppose one blessing of it not being overly shiny is that the chipping doesn’t really notice like a coloured coat would do unless you’re up close to your nails.Overall, yes, I would recommend it. It’s cruelty free, and while it’s not the cheapest, it’s not stupidly overpriced either. I’d use it over the OPI Nail Envy any day. Just make sure you’ve got plenty of time to reapply it during the week!

I like products from Nails Inc. Always try to buy the plant based products of which this in one of them. It has nice natural ingredients & helps to keep nails strong & healthy. It was a good price on prime day.

My wife has been quite fond of this product and eventually convinced me to give it a go during a "family spa day" with our toddler. To be fair, I can understand its appeal. It goes on smoothly with a wide brush, which even my larger hands managed without difficulty, and it dries swiftly – a crucial feature when wrangling a three-year-old determined to paint everything in sight, including herself. It has a smooth feel on the nails and remains intact without peeling or cracking oddly for a few days. The use of natural ingredients is also reassuring.That said, there are a few drawbacks. If your nails are particularly damaged, you’ll need multiple coats for proper coverage. Additionally, the bottle’s design leaves something to be desired, as the product tends to settle at the bottom, making it harder to use towards the end. It’s not the most robust option either – it’s far from being chip-resistant. However, whether you’re after a simple, shiny finish or a base for coloured polish, it performs well enough. Just be sure to take your time when applying it and exercise a bit of patience!

This is my favourite basecoat! I paint my nails every week and using this stops my nails from staining and makes the nail varnish last all week. I'm not sure if it improves my nail health as I use other things as well. I've been using this base coat for a few years now and will keep using it for a long time!

I’ve persisted with this nail strengther as my nails have been damaged from just 2 visits to nail salons from August 2024. They were so weak breaking and splitting so tried Boots own strengthener first which was ok. But went back to this product. I’ve used nail cuticle oil every night massaged into my nails and cuticles let that sink in for half hour then applied Nailkale nail base 3 times a week and my nails are finally growing. And use hand cream everyday. It’s been a labour of love but won’t go back to any nail salon ever again!!
