Every pool season purchasing one to deep clean my filters

We have an outdoor swimming pool with a sand filter and have purchased this product for the last three years. The first year I was uncertain of the best way to use the product, so called the company, asking if it would be best to (i) add the product while back-flushing the filter, allowing it to cycle through the filter in just a few minutes, or (ii) add the product, allow it to reach the filter, then turn the back-flush off so that the product remained in the filter for 12 hours.The answer was that the product would be much more effective if it was given dwell time in the sand filter, so this is what we do. We take care with keeping our pool clean, back-flushing the sand filter as needed, but it's surprising when we turn the back-flush on again after the HTH treatment how dirty the ejected water is.So, for us the product works well and just one application a year is enough. We will continue to buy the product if it is priced appropriately, as it presently is.

It was time to clean our pool filters and our maintenance company wanted $140. We have four big filters so we ordered two of these soaked overnight in a large empty garbage can. Did the job perfectly.

I think bleach and water will do the same thing, only much cheaper
