Great Knife for the price
I work in a Warehouse and have carried many utility knives over the years. I bought this knife to replace an old one and was pleasantly surprised. It is very sturdy, well made, has stayed tight and feels great. I have owned it for about 3 months now and has stayed "tight" and is holing up to daily abuse. You cannot beat it for the price in comparison to a similar Milwaukee, etc knife.

Very sturdy and convenient option for breaking down shipment boxes for recycling.
I bought this to replace a more expensive smaller foldable version from a well known name in knives in general. With all the boxes today in my apartments recycling bin I needed something to break mine down to stuff in and not just around or balancing on top. This knife is great in that I can keep it in my pocket and not be concerned it will open inadvertently. It has a nice heft to it, the quick release blade is awesome to keep a sharp blade loaded. It allows me to safely tackle boxes large, small and awkward shaped with a steady grip.

Best utility knife!!!
I've used every brand of utility knife or "box cutter" around. Cheap, expensive, fancy. Boss even gave me one with a whistle in it. The cutter fell apart in an hour but the whistle survived... This cutter is easily capable of putting a LOT of force into it. I can cut really thin plywood, carpet and,of course, boxes. The tool itself is simple & Sturdy. The Blade swings open and locks in place VERY SECURELY! I've had a fancy one that the lock failed and cut one finger down to the bone. Ouch. Blade change is simple, with no jamming. While there's no blade storage in the handle, the blades themselves seem to last a lot longer than other brands. I highly recommend getting refill GOLDBLATT blades. They've lasted as long or longer than premium blades costing 2x-3x more

My Favorite Utility Knife
I've used a lot of utility knives in my time (not really) but I really love this one. Great quality, sturdy, and comes with quite a few replacement blades. The blades are sharp and I haven't been able to snap one yet.I thought we lost my first one, so I bought another. Then found the first one, but I'm glad we have two!

A Gift He Seems Happy With
This Goldblatt Folding Utiity Knife was a Christmas gift for my husband even though he didn't ask for it. I liked the fact that it folded and seemed well made and I liked reviews. Now, after the initial surprise, my husband seems pleased with his new utility knife and I see him using it often. I believe it is meant to be carried on a belt, etc., but that wasn't importnt to my husband. Nice that it came with 10 blades. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars was I think it should have had a place to store a blade or two on the knife. BUT you can't have everything.

Excellent Quality
My mother in law's boyfriend has sneaked it off a few times so I just game it to him. Now I have to buy another brand since they seem to only make this in one color and I don't want them mixed up. Very sad.The quality is amazing though and it has a good grip. Never slipped while using it nor had any issues swapping blades. The lock/unlock to open the blade felt sturdy yet smooth to open. Highly recommend. Never thought I'd be okay getting something like this as a gift, but it actually would be pretty cool. I used it for basically everything when a knife or box cutter was needed.

Excellent, Quality Knife. Worth Every Penny.
Really solid and sturdy knife. While other utility knives offer push-button locking (which makes it easer to open and close one-handed), the back lock on this knife seems very beefy and secure. If you want a knife that you can open and close very easily one-handed, then this might not be the right choice. Otherwise, I really love the look and feel of the knife. The construction is all metal, including the red handles, so this gives it a nice heft (the red paint is also really nice). I also like the shaping of the handle, which has a sort of "cut-out" for your index finger to rest. If it didn't have that it would be much easier for your hand to slip and slide forward, resulting in you cutting your hand on the blade. Not all knives have this design, so it's important to note that. I haven't used the pocket clip at all, but it's thick and it seems pretty sturdy. The piece that holds the blade is excellent. It holds the blade relatively snug and has jimping (ridges that add grip) on the top and bottom. One thing that's important to me is that the button to release the blade is on the side and has a low profile; this makes me feel confident that I won't hit it and release the blade by accident (but it's still easy to switch blades when you do want to). There's also a cutout that exposes the blade for cutting wire (but it's still deep enough to not cut yourself accidentally). I don't use that much, but I assume for some people it will be real handy.Lastly, one very important reason why I bought this knife is that the blade sits ENTIRELY within the handle when the knife is folded. On a lot of other utility knives, the blade sticks out from the handle (albeit not the cutting edge). Having it be completely sunken into the handle gives you a piece of mind knowing that when you throw it in a drawer or tool bag, the thin side of the blade won't scratch or damage something else.I also have and use a Stanley 99E, and while I love that you can open and close it one-handed very quickly, I don't like the it really doesn't have a solid locking mechanism. This Goldblatt Knife, while hard to close one handed, has the secure locking and comfortable ergonomics that give you confidence when you need to cut something really tough and don't want your hand to slip. If I'm opening up a letter or cutting some tape, I use the 99E, but if I'm going to cut open a really stubborn plastic clamshell, I'm always going to reach for this knife.Oh, and also, the knife came with a cartridge with 10 Goldblatt blades which are superb. The only defects I found were that the blade is not as smooth as I would like when opening, and the part where the lock is making contact with the blade could use some grease or oil for lubrication. I added some 3-in-1 oil, but it didn't help that much because the metal has a coarse surface, that's why I think a grease might work better. Additionally, the white lettering that says "Goldblatt" on the handle is not even in height, that is, the letters on the left are raised higher up and gradually get flatter so that the letters on the right are more flush with the surface of the handle (the white painting on them is also not completely spot-on). This, however, is cosmetic, and doesn't really bother me. This is a knife you buy for the sturdy construction, not really for the finish (although, as mentioned earlier, the red paint does look quite nice).Overall, this knife is a home run for me. It's strong, comfortable, and has several little features that give you confidence in its safety and performance. I paid around $15 bucks for it, and it's absolutely worth every penny. I use it only for home use, but I'm sure it will also make a great tool on the job site. Thanks for reading.
