I bought two of these and they are worth the price and they work perfect no issues with them

Excellent Hoist
I had to replace the AC roof unit on my RV I live in and needed a hoist to lift up the new one and lower the old one down. Being a disable Vet on limited income I had to be careful of the cost. This hoist fit the bill. Not too expensive to break the bank but more then able to handle the load. Between this hoist hung from a strong tree branch next to the RV, and some long lift straps run though a pallet, I was able to easily swap out the AC's roof units and quickly restore my RV to comfortable living conditions.

As good or better than the expensive brand.
Bought two 1/2 ton chain come-a-longs at the same time to see if the price of the name brand was justified… it’s not. This cheap one works just as well lifting and lowering, and is even better when you put it in neutral. Chain adjusts easily, with minimal headache, while in neutral, unlike the name brand that turns into a game of tug-o-war every time you want to let chain out with no load on it… The name brand sits in the toolbox collecting dust while this cheap one is out doing the work…

Works well
Yaa it gets stuck when trying to freespool out every now and again but I havemt ran into one that doesn't from time to time high dollar or low.Biggest job this has seen is lifting complete front ends out of cat 735A rock trucks and it didn't hesitate at all. (One on either side).Will probably be buying another soon.OOOH! AND IT HAS A CARY CASE! nice to be able to keep it clean and organized.

Lowering did not work, broken, stuck with beam in the air.
I was using this to raise and lower a 200lb wood beam and it raised the beam without issue, but when I switched the lever from raise to lower, it didn't do anything, it was locked up. I had to figure out a way to get the beam down manually and it was dangerous to do it this way. Couldn't return it because it was past 30 days.
