Rutland Rainbow Flame Crystals, Magical Multi-Colored Fire, 1 lb. Canister

With some fire knowledge, these are fun. I'm impressed with how long you can still spot colors after dose.

Large volume of product for a good price compared to buying the little packets one at a time. Vibrant colors, works best when the flames aren't absolutely ripping hot.

It works but it doesn’t last very long in the fire. Maybe a few minutes but certainly not 30.

These are pretty cool. You need to put in at least a cup 8 oz to make the flames change. i was trying to shake the crystals in using the shake top. dont do that. just pour a bunch into a cup and throw that in. the way i did it was burning my hand with little to no results. it lasts about 15 minutes. It rained and these got all wet. i layed them out on analuminum baking sheet and they dried out fine.. the chemicals in this distroyed the baking pan so use cardboard if it gets wet. besides that, its a pretty cool product. roast marshmallow BEFORE using these. i probably posioned a few kids this way

This was a really nice added effect to the fire. Colors shift from light emerald greens to deep blues. We found it easier to put the whole container at the base of the fire and let it slowly burn at the fire grew hotter. The material actually binds together and burned slower and longer. The kids loved it.

This is probably the cheapest per volume unit I could find for the chemicals used. Beware this is not child-proof packaging. A little goes a long way. Just a sprinkle will do. Lay on too much and it will nearly put out the fire and it HAS to be in flame to produce the colors. I get lots of blue, green and some red and yellow. Lasts as long as the packets but at lower cost. Beware of the dust as you shake it out -it's toxic. Since the granules are in a tall round container, it serves well to hold at the bottom while you shake or pour it on the fire -without singing the hair on your hand/arm.

This is such a nice way to end a night of camping. But make sure you are ENDING, you can't cook over the flames after using this so after you have made smores is when you should use this. I read a few other reviews saying it doesn't last long I found this to only apply if you pour the powder directly on top. What I did was fold pieces of paper into small envelopes and poured the powder in there. Then toss the packets in a couple at a time. This kept the flames colorful for much longer in my experience. As far as colors go the main color you will see is blue a majority of the flames where blue to light blue with hints of green and red.

It was a hit at our bonfire and had everyone saying wow!

As I write this review, we are currently enjoying a multi coloured fire up in cottage country! This stuff is awesome! Expect to run out by the end of the season and will definately be ordering more for next Summer!

Definitely a fun product for campfires; we tried it out Thanksgiving weekend and got some "oohs" and "ahhs". I only wish the product lasted a little longer in the flames. You also have to distribute a generous amount over the entire fire in order to see the majority of the flames change colour. For better longevity, your best bet is to make little packets yourself and toss them in. We poured about a tablespoon of the crystals into 5 dixie cups and sealed the tops closed with masking tape. We used the crystals for 2 campfire nights and still have at least half the canister left. Overall, you get a fairly large canister for a great price. I'd say it's worth a buy at least once for the experience if you've never tried it before. Haven't tried Mystical Flame, another popular colour-changing product on amazon, but if it performs similarly to this brand I think this is a better bang for your buck.

I was a bit dissapointed with this product. I have never tried the pouch version, it might be better. I tryed this flames product, it looks like sand with some coloured specs in it. the first few times i sprinkled some over the fire, i saw nothing at all. I sprinked a larger dose, and I did start to see some blue and green, and enjoyed it, but it was gone in about 1 min. I tryed a larger dose and it didnt seem to work at all again... I am dissaponted with this, because over the years of bon fires, i have seen many items in the fire, and some cause the fire to change colour to greens and reds, so i expected this product to be a more potent version of the elements in those items that cause the colours. but this does not seem to be strong, or work well, but i will try a pouch next time and see if there is better results. Also, my fire was very hot hardwood fire, with hot coals (someone said you have to put it on hot coals to work)

What a sweet cut idea to make a child's eye's pop and to here their giggles. The colors are vibrant and last a long time. Very glad I purchased just to see the kid's faces I forgot to take a picture of the fire
