Such a Difference
I will add myself to the list of those "I can't believe I waited so long" to install one of these. As I have gotten older, I have noticed all the bumps in the road more and more. Recently, after doing my research, I installed a Kinekt stem and afterward, realized what I really wanted for a more comfortable ride was a suspension type seatpost. Going back to the books, I ultimately decided on this Redshift Seatpost. If I have a complaint about the Kinekt stem, it is that I wish it had an even stiffer spring than the hardest one they ship with it. I worried I would have the same issue with the Kinekt seatpost. Add to that that the Redshift appears to have more adjustability, the option of adding the second spring and an overall sleeker design, and it seemed right. It was - for me. I played with the settings a bit (I am 6'1" and about 240), and immediately added the second spring. The preload - while slightly more "fiddly" than the Kinekt (you have to remove the seatpost to adjust it), once "dialed in" is great. I actually have mine a little softer than what a hard rider might want, but it seems to be just the right cushion for all the bumps I encounter - I ride the Pinellas County trail mostly, as well as the streets necessary to get me there. My bike is a Giant Anyroad aluminum road bike with a composite fork - so already a more comfortable ride profile, but this adds enough so that I again am anxious to get out and ride. Pay attention to your seatpost diameter. My Anyroad has a larger diameter, so I also had to buy a shim (Redshift says it must be at least 4" long). This is the most expensive add-on I have on my bike. Is it worth it? In a word, ABSOLUTELY

BRAVO! Redshift Sports! Love your product and wish I had purchased it earlier.
Absolutely LOVE this suspension seatpost. I put this on my JuicedBikes RipCurrentS, and I tell you, what a difference. It smoothed out the feel of all the small bumps and greatly reduced the jarring to the spine on the big ones. Highly recommend, and well worth the somewhat high price (still less than Thudbuster and Kinetic, and much better looking on the bike). I weigh about 220# and was able to adjust the setting very easily to my desired comfort level. The seatpost is spring loaded, so be careful if you have to take it apart to put in the additional supplied 2nd spring for heavier riders. Great customer service. Long story, but I called Customer Support on Friday at 5p and left a message. Erik, one of the owners, who also heads up Customer Support called me back from his own private cell # an hour later after business hours and remedied the situation immediately which was my own fault. I couldn't be more happy with the product and that kind of level of customer service. Well done Erik and Redshift Sports!!!

Great fit and finish, awesome seatpost
What a blessing. Installed this seat post on my new e-bike. Due to the weight of the e-bike potholes in NYC were amplified with the stock seat post. I decided to use both springs although I weigh 180lbs, this allowed me to set the preset at a lighter rating and it worked beautifully. Now I get the suspension effect but it doesn’t compress too much when hitting an unexpected pothole. Took a little trial and error but I dialed it I just after two rides over familiar terrain. It’s expensive but it is worth every dime. Absolutely wonderful, changed the ride on my e-bike.

A real butt saver!
This seat post is amazing. I have a low end Salsa Journeyman gravel bike with aluminum frame and aluminum seatpost. It gets brutal after 50+ miles on pavement, much less it's intended purpose, gravel. I recently did a 50+ mile gravel ride and decided to order this seatpost before heading out... it was heavenly, my butt thanked me. It is a little on the heavy side, but let's face it, if you're racing gravel you're probably riding a carbon frame / carbon seatpost set up anyway, so this is not your target product. The extra half pound or so doesn't matter if you're doing for fun, and it will literally save your butt.

Take out the butt bumps
Very interesting, it works really well, and takes out the bumps. Feels a little weird like seat is falling of off at first but then the enjoyment begins. It's the best option for no shock really great. A little adjustment to get seat angle correct but is adjustable and played withvpressure of spring for me , I tightened a little extra since I like firm but forgiving. 203lbs I put in extra spring and tightened to 5 seems perfect not to soft but forgiving on butt blaster bumps. Highly recommend, made bike much better, thinking getting handle bar shock as well.

Buy one, you'll thank me later
This seat post is worth its weight in gold. I wish I'd known about suspension seat posts earlier. Don't hesitate to purchase one, if you're debating on the price and wondering if it's worth it, don't. It is.Once you get it set for your weight and comfort, it's a game changer. You're probably thinking, I have a full suspension bike already, why would I need one. It takes the 'chatter' of rough roads/trails out from your bottom, full suspension is good for bigger bumps.I feel the smoothness in my butt with the post and my body with full suspension frame. I liked it so much I bought the suspension stem too. If I had to choose between the post or stem, I'd go with the post (or post first then stem).

One of the best buys I've made for my bike.
My spouse and I bought fat tire electric bikes this summer so we could get out more, and we have certainly done than. Not having ridden much in the last few years and getting older the first few rides on a combination of paved and unpaved trails, a few streets and some dirt roads where a bit rough. But this post takes the worse jolts of unexpected ruts out of our rides. The post is easy to install and adjust for weight and makes our rides much smoother.

Expensive? YES, worth it? read on....
Even at my advanced age I still enjoy cycling. However, I also have a bad back which is often jarred during a ride, due to the appallingly poor state of the road surfaces everywhere. When this happens it can really spoil my day!So I started to look into suspension seat posts. I researched virtually all types, read up on specs. and watched several YouTube videos. I also read many customer reviews. Clearly there is a wide range of designs and PRICES.I was immediately drawn to the REDSHIFT ShockStop Suspension Seatpost, because of its design and function, as well as the fact that it is so discreet (could be mistaken for a conventional seat post really). So I took the plunge and bought it. Once I had unpacked it from its smart, red box and held it in my hand, it became clear that it was a beautifully designed and constructed piece of equipment. I followed the easy instructions and added the additional spring, then dialled in the appropriate setting for my weight. The only slightly fiddly bit was attaching my saddle!A test ride followed and within the first couple of miles I realised that this was money well spent. IT WORKS!I found myself deliberately riding over the roughest surfaces, to put the seat post through its paces. Absolutelybrilliant. Very, very comfortable. WELL WORTH IT.

It really works !!
Due to a puncture on a tubeless system which proved impossible to plug I moved to some puncture resistant Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. Unfortunately they transformed my regular route into a harsh ride which after a while I could take no longer, exacerbating my existing back issue. I tried a pogo stick suspension post which was useless. I tried a sprung gel saddle which helped a bit. I would have tried a suntour seatpost but it was out of stock for a prolonged period. So I gave the much more expensive Shockstop a go. My regular cycle route is on the road and consists of speed bumps, pot holes and general poor quality British roads which creates a road buzz over significant stretches. It was the latter that most bothered me as I can generally avoid pot holes and normally stand up over speed bumps.I have to say that the seatpost was a revelation. Of course you will still feel speed bumps - although it does reduce the impact - but the general road buzz over rutts, bumps, poor quality old roads is very significantly reduced. Thank goodness !!The range of adjustment is good and works well to stiffen/soften according to your preference. I am around 103 kg and have the additional spring in place and the dial at 4.5.I cant say how the much cheaper but similarly well reviewed Suntour seatpost compares and I do think the shockstop is expensive, but at least it works well !! And I am also happy to say that the many positive reviews here are genuine.

Best Bike upgrade!
If you would like to improve the comfort of your ride this seat post is for you. I’ve been riding road bikes for years and have a lovely bike sitting in my hall but which I couldn’t face riding to work or for fun/exercise because of the harsh ride and poor roads. I thought a change of saddle might help but I’m so glad I went for the redshift seatpost option instead. All bone jarring road impacts, big and small are cushion by the suspension to such an extent that I’m excited to ride my bike again! Read a few reviews first and managed to dial in the correct tension for me straight away. I’m 80kg 6ft tall and riding a road bike on roads, I used both springs set the seatpost to number 2. There was a very slight bob on small climbs but you could can easily stiffen the setting slightly if you’re planning a lot of hills. Definitely the best upgrade I’ve ever made to a bike and actually road through a long bumpy road that was waiting for tarmac, seated, without discomfort. You also no longer have to constantly put your weight on the pedals, stop pedalling and raise yourself out of the saddle over bumps to protect your backside. Sleek for a suspension seatpost and looks top quality. Unless you’re a competitive racer I’d say this was a no brainer and well worth the money.

Super Smooth Seat Suspension
If you have a bicycle without suspension, this product provides some springiness between the bicycle seat and the frame to make cycling a smoother and more pleasurable activity. The stem is infinitely adjustable in its design range to balance the rider weight so that the ride is always comfortable. Setting up is easy with additional scope to change the seat angle and forward and backward seat position. If you have a nice bicycle but would appreciate additional comfort then this ticks the box.

My back thanks me for buying this!
I bought this for a short bike tour in Wales, as I have chronic back pain due to a deteriorating lumbar disc. I had been using the Canyon VCLS post (the split one), which helped, but I still felt every bump. The B roads in Wales were very broken up, and I was really impressed at how well the Redshift post smoothed out the ride. There's a lot more travel than the Canyon post, and you can also vary how firm the suspension is. For touring I had it set quite soft (only the one spring and fairly low pre-load), and I didn't notice too much 'bobbing' even when picking up the pace. I plan to fit a quick release seat clamp so I can adjust the pre-load quickly by hand depending on the kind of riding i'm doing. The other thing I noticed was my backside was more comfortable after several hours in the saddle, so I guess the reduced bumps and vibration also helps there. It's fairly heavy, but if you have a sore back like me you're probably not racing at high level anyway, so a few hundred grams is a small price to pay for such a big jump in comfort. My last thought is that it doesn't look too noticeable on the bike, certainly compared to other high travel posts like the thudbuster.
