A Lifesaver!
This comb is awesome! It's exactly as described. Our little golden doodle has curly, fuzzy hair and this comb gets right through the tangles and removes so much hair. It's lightweight and has 9 long teeth with serrated blades. The comb glides through the hair. I have decided to groom her myself after finding this comb. Highly recommend for any dogs with curly or easily tangled hair!

Excellent for Grooming Long Hair Cats (Short Hairs Like it Too!)
I’ve been using this brand/style for many years with great success. I’ve always used it for our long haired cats & they all like it. Now our short-haired cats have decided they prefer it to brushing as well. The “older” comb that has been around for years, still looks good & functions well. I just needed to add another to our home for easier access for the rest of our feline family. Highly recommend this comb.

Wish I bought sooner
I can’t believe how good this works. I have a doodle and am ashamed at not being a very good dog mom sometimes. I can usually keep up with a slicker brush and comb but sometimes let it go too long between brushes. This thing worked so good getting the bottom layer matting out. So much hair came out with it but needed. She was not a fan but she’s not a fan of any brushing/combing. I will never have to shave her again!

Pretty good once you learn to use it
UPDATE with my original review below. I've learned to use this dematter in a different way than I previously had been. Instead of just combing through and expecting the blades to cut, I realized they're serrated so you have to do a saw-like motion. It has helped him be a little more tolerant and presumably comfortable, but it's not completely pain free for him and he only tolerates it for a few minutes at most. It doesn't come with instructions for effective use which I think is the bigger problem. Maybe I'm still not using it correctly! But it's hard to say without instructions.~~~ (original review below) ~~~I've got a schnauzer with the typical schnauzer beard. It gets very matted under his chin and I often have to cut it off entirely. I was really excited to try this based on reviews, but we haven't had the same easy experience that the other reviewers have talked about. This is definitely an effective dematter but it will take several days (and many treats!) to get through all of the mats. It's uncomfortable for him but it does seem to be working at picking the mats apart as we take it slowly.

Gets the mats out!
This thing is great! My little Pekingese was so difficult to keep unmatted. Regular brushes couldn't keep up with her densely packed fur and she kept drveloping little mats. This thing saws through the mats so quickly and efficiently and brings them to the surface of the fur for easy removal. The dog is happier now that she doesn't have tight little mats pulling on her skin. Highly recommend!

Gentle
Very nice little comb, that I use on a Pomeranian that I sometimes dog sit for. It keeps her coat nice and she tolerates it well. It does not seem to pull at her coat like some do, so I would say it is pretty gentle.

Good comb for short and long haired kitties
I bought this comb for my long haired cat. It does a nice job of detangling her fur. I also use it on my short haired cats, and it helps a lot with the shedding.

Good for minor mats with regular grooming, not great for tough matting
For context I have a 50lb goldendoodle that is 75% poodle. Her hair is very curly like a poodles. I brush her out regularly because I like to keep her coat long. This requires using a slicker to line brush and metal comb to verify no tangles. If there are any tangles, a dematting tool like this is effective at breaking thru.My complaints with this tool, is that the teeth are not on very tight. They shift around and it results in a jagged alignment of the teeth rather than the nice smooth side. This is generally not great for a dematting tool, because they tend to be very sharp on the serrated side (for getting thru the mats). However, on this tool, the serrated side is a VERY dull blade. I am not sure such a dull blade will be that great for getting out tough mats. It's fine for me and my dog, because I brush her out regularly and she never has tough mats to deal with. Typically I only see small mats that form in the problematic areas and this comb is able to get those out effectively. So TLDR - this is a decent de matting comb for small mats and good if you're already regularly grooming the dog. Also, the dull blade makes risk of accidentally cutting your dog minimal to none. BUT, if you have a tightly matted dog due to neglect and expect this tool to be great for those, I think you'd be disappointed.
