I was going to a Day of the Dead event and needed good makeup. This stuff is great. It really stays on your face for hours. The colors are vibrant. A bit hard to remove the turquoise around my eyes but it's a minor problem. Really love it!1st picture is an hour after application, 2nd picture is about 5 hours after application.

I’ll start by saying I’m a beginner. I bought this kit which is a creamy oil-based paint, and another that was similar to water color paint. This one does have very nice pigmented colors. However, I felt like it would never dry on my son’s face. Colors tended to smear while painting. Applying setting powder only smeared the paint onto the puff and made everything white. It was for a Halloween party where he would be going in a bounce house so it would have smeared all over his costume and his friends. Perhaps it needed more dry time, but kids don’t really sit well for long drying time. Taking it off required soap and a lot of scrubbing. We ended up using the powder and water kit for the day of. I’m not saying this is a bad kit because it does have really nice pigmented colors. I just feel if you are a beginner there are easier kits to use and there’s more of a learning curve with this kit. It did not come with instructions for dry time or when to use to the powder. As someone who has never used face paint, this would have been helpful.

Maybe I just don't know how to use this but it didn't seem to spread as easily and have good coverage as I thought it would. I was disappointed

This paint is great! I had gotten their water based paint and it was honestly terrible. I was worried about breaking out which is why I didn't get this originally, but being around stage and costume makeup my whole life, I should have known better. This set is great, while it isn't the easiest to get off without makeup remover and wet wipes (either flushable wipes or baby wipes with makeup remover applied usually works best back stage, something more gentle around the eyes should be used to prevent any sort of issue) It's the nature of this type of makeup but do what works best for you. But the makeup is great for mixing and for coverage. The best way to set it whether doing face painting or full makeup so it doesn't itch or smudge is translucent powder or if cost is an issue (for face painting at say a fair etc) Cornstarch based baby powder works fairly well but it does need to be puffed on heavy and sort of dusted off and will dull only a little because it is white in color. But it will hold up much better and make it much easier to prolong wear. I say cornstarch because it is hypoallergenic vs regular talc, but that can be used as well.
