When I moved into my current apartment I needed a kitchen waste basket, and since it was for my kitchen, I wanted a lid of some sort. So I found this lid and its companion basket. And I love the set. The lid fits snugly on the companion basket, and I don't have to take it off to add my current piece of trash. Which means no smells escape, nor odors to draw any insects that like to plague kitchen trash cans. Kitchen nirvana!

I bought 4 Rubbermaid 7 gallon wastebaskets because they were super cheap and then realized I needed lids because my cat kept knocking them over while leaning over the edge to sniff around in the trash. These are the only lids available. Don't get me wrong, they work great. But I don't see how the price could possibly be justified. They are 3 times more expensive than the basket. If I had known I would need lids, I definitely would've gotten different wastebaskets because I could've gotten 2 baskets with lids for the same price as just one of these Rubbermaid lids.

It almost fits my trash can. Mine's an older Rubbermaid with square corners. This lid is more for rounded corners but dimensions are the same.

I have been looking for the oval trash can lid for the longest time. This one fit perfect on my Rubbermaid Can. It doesn't lock in place which is nice since I can easily remove the lid. But, It stay on well enough that you can't knock it over.

I was expecting it to click into place. It does fit on the trash can though, just not a tight enough fit to keep the dog out. Otherwise it's fine

But easy to pop on and off when needed

Exactly what I needed and fit the trash can I bought it for. The plastic is thick and seems durable. It is not smell proof if that is something you need. I use it outdoors and don’t mind if a little odor escapes.

Fantastic quality lid for a fantastic quality bin. Ordered to keep the dog out and he hasn’t been in since. Well made and worth every penny
