Awesome Knife for the Price!
Everyone should have one of these! While it's edge could easily be honed; the ergonomics, balance, weight, and geometry are perfect on this beast of a tool! The back edge is falsetto and completely smooth to the touch affording you many grips. I ground my tip to a dual edge since I seem to have a manufacturing error on my point. I might later grind the falsetto edge out to be sharp up to the thumb spots. This is one of my favorite Amazon purchases of all time! Just don't expect the sheith to be worth a darn thing to you other than protecting your edge and steel from dulling or rusting during storage.Pro's: The overall craftsmanship of the steel, blade, and handle on mine are superb, the knife itself is a steal for the price. It's beefy, sharp, and extremely ergonomic in a variety of grips with a fine finish on the wood and rivets of its handle (which are soft and comfortable to grip.)Cons: The edge was not what I would consider sharp out of the box, but the steel takes and holds an edge nice. My point needed some grinding to take shape. The sheith leaves a lot to be desired, but covers the edge at least. I didn't take any stars off because this thing rocks!

Great knife
It's heavy, we'll balenced, and sharp. After using it a few times I sharpened it up in a few minutes. The weight is what I love. Butcher block type knives don't have the mass that helps you cut through large pieces of meat, and it works just as well chopping vegetables. I bought a Cresent shaped blade to go along with with this knife for the chopping, but this knife does it all, I really don't need it. Some people complained about it rusting, so I coated it lightly with veggie oil the first few times. I stopped doing that, just got in a hurry. Not a speck of rust so I don't oil it any more. I just make sure it's good and dry before I put it away.

Saw the reviews so I thought I’d try it.
It’s heavy. It’s dull. It won’t hold an edge. This could have been a great review but dang I can’t keep it sharp. I’m talking about just cutting potatoes and meat. Not bones I’m sure it will be good for some but if it’s something you use every day ,,,,,,, keep looking as I will. Hey I have it to my neighbor and he loved it ……. He likes free.
