Our previous fridge died due to the compressor seizing. I asked the tech why this happens. I kept it fairly clean so he said it's possible that it underwent electrical shock. Around that time our neighborhood was experiencing power fluctuations due to a bad shared transformer. So, I bought one of these to take the brunt of those changes in case it happens again and I would suggest others do the same.It's well made, has a small profile, easily fits behind the fridge and does its job well. For the money and peace of mind, this is a no-brainer. Could have potentially saved me over $1,000 had I had this installed previously.

This thing is exactly what I love as a minimalist. I have a laptop to charge when I travel, but it's very valuable to me and this single outlet gives my laptop that extra protection.I would've loved to see this protector with a USB-C port also someday! Then it would be perfection!

I purchased this because it was small and thin to fit behind the refrigerator. It hasn't been used yet (no lightning strikes or power surges), but it gives me peace of mind knowing my appliances are protected. And for the price it cost I felt it was a good investment.

I have owned other single plug surge protectors in the past but these units are both the most ascetically pleasing I have found and they have excellent Jules and wattage protection levels, higher than most I have seen.I have a whole house surge protector but I use surge protectors on all my major electronics. I like to use this style on stand alone items such as my subwoofer; and small appliances that do not lend themselves to a power bar style protector.Surge protectors are one of those items that one does not truly know how well they work until they don’t work but I feel confident these units will perform as intended when needed.

Easy to use, dedicated to one product (I use it for a OLED tv in an area that has a lot of blackouts), and a great alternative to the UPS backup surge protectors.

My purpose for this pair of 1,350 joule surge protectors was to protect my two garage door openers. In the past I have found door opener motors to be sensitive to surges from lightning or other causes, and these are inexpensive protection. A small blue pilot light tells you the protection is working, but you have to take this on faith because there is no reasonable way for the average person to test this. I took off a point only because no marking on the unit itself stated the joule rating (see photo), although the carton stated 1,350.
