Pure Garden Half Umbrella Outdoor Patio Shade - 9 ft Patio Umbrella with Easy Crank - Small Canopy for Balcony, Table, or Deck (Brilliant Blue)

I have an east-facing window with direct "searing" morning sunlight that also contributes to solar heating of a small enclosed porch. Because this window has a beautiful view to the outside, I really hated to install blinds or curtains. I tried a traditional round umbrella, and it provided no real shade. However, THIS 9 ft half-umbrella in a beautiful shade of blue is a GAME CHANGER!! The umbrella pole is easy to assemble/disassemble, measuring 1.5 inches in diameter, with a solid fit in the base. The crank feature, rather than push up, is fantastic, allowing me to fully or partially extend for the sun angle. In addition to providing awesome shade from the sun, it looks great on the deck. The umbrella also helps to reduce the amount of solar heating in the porch, and it doesn't hide the view from the window. This umbrella is well made and a great deal. (I saw similar models online 2 an 3 times this price.) Even if I'm not outside, I am definitely enjoying this umbrella every morning!!

WoW! Easy to assemble. Clever design. Mechanically sound. Attractive to the eye and an efficient sun blocker. I have a narrow porch off of my apartment.....the typical umbrella is just too big but this "semi" is perfect. It winds up and down with ease. It seems very stable and hardy.Two suggestions: 1) Get mini elastic lines to bind the umbrella in place when you close it. 2) Anchor it well. You do not get a stand with the umbrella so you have to design your own stabilizer. I attached the pole to the porch railing using cable ties. Seems to be working just fine.P.S. And it is very sharp looking. Quite satisfied.

Over time the base gets a little flimsy. But it’s a nice umbrella. I would buy some sandbags to put on top of the base for extra weight.

Just what I was looking for. It covers my glider so my face is in the shade. It only looks short because it is installed in a window well behind the glider. I wanted it low so it would shade us. Seems well made and works ok. Now all I have to do is replace the sling on the glider!

I LOVED this umbrella when I got it. It's absolutely perfect for my small space and the color is vibrant. My frame is still in excellent shape, but my canopy is battered now. The color has faded slightly and I have a tiny rip in it from an outside cat that needed the assistance of my umbrella to get off the roof... -_-This product would have easily been 5 stars with how happy I was with it. Until I tried to find the replacement canopy just now. This takes away a solid 2 stars, and I highly debated taking away more but for a year, it was perfect and the frame still works exactly as it should.When I came back here to find a replacement canopy, I was shocked to see a response from the manufacturer to a question that the canopy cannot be replaced. That an entirely new umbrella must be purchased instead. This is extremely wasteful and I am disappointed. I will be looking for a replacement with a different company that offers replacement canopies.

Just a few inches short of my 9’ south facing sliding doors, but it works! It’s tall enough to clear the doors, and it’s sturdy. I ordered it with the base and could not get it to go exactly upright - it tilted a little - the threads are plastic so I didn’t want to wear them out. So I added a tipover prevention strap I had from some furniture to hold it against the top of the door frame, and it is just perfect. That should also keep it steady when it’s windy. Since I am not allowed to install an awning, this should work well to shade the summer sun. I am very happy with it so far.
