Great little engine stand
I bolted this to my work bench with some lag bolts and it supports the complete engine just fine. It's easy to rotate and doesn't do anything that makes me fear the engine is going to fall in the floor. I had no idea they even made these but it really works well for VW engines.

Works as intended
Works pretty good. Locks down tight. It was a little stiff at first because of the paint. After a little bit of use, it is easier to rotate. Solidly built. This is a "must have" if you own an air cooled VW engine. For the money, you cant beat it.

Doesn’t work as advertised
The O.D. of the tube on the engine side of the stand is almost identical to the I.D. of the tube on the bench mount side. With paint, it’s practically press-fit tolerances. This means the engine side will not fit into the bench mount, leaving the buyer rigging the engine side to fit within their conventional engine stand they should have used in the first place. Do not buy if you want bench mount capability (probably just don’t buy regardless).

Good strong engine holder
Great engine holder but need to lighten up on paint. could not assemble without removing paint from shaft.

Diameter
Postive- I rebuild entire 1600cc vw engine on it. Able to move around such on stand, work bench, etc.Negative- the fork diameter to mount diameter is very same! So I have to grind down the fork diameter to fit in. Paint thickness do cause the diameter to increase.

Not ready to use
Pulled the engine mount out today. The mounting holes are off a half a hole. I will have to heat up the arms to spread it out. The pipe would not go into the mounting bracket,They will have to be sanded down to fit. Plan on half a day to be able to use.

Works for VW cases
Works well for VW engines. Good price and quality seems good. Already tore down 2 engines on it. Rebuilding after the parts come back from machine shop so we'll see how it does but I think it'll do well. Only con, if any, is that no hardware was included. I used M10-1.5 all thread and hardware to mount. Also doesn't include the sleeve/spacer for the lower stud on VW cases. I recycled a spacer from a VW shock with some thick washers and it works very well. Try it out if you like. So far so good.

Great engine mount
Fully adjustable & works great for VW aircooled 1600 based engines. I highly recommend. 👍
