Sharp
Bought this to level cakes. It was very big, which I wanted and sharp. Best knife I’ve used to cut my cakes! I was very pleased with this purchase.

Very long
The length, I thought, was the entire knife with handle included. But it is actually just measuring the blade. It’s very long.

Good for cutting ROCKWOOL mineral insulation
I didn’t buy this to slice cake. I bought it to cut rockwool mineral insulation. They say to cut with a bread knife, but I wanted something long that would cut the 16” width of the insulation for making it thinner for walls made of 2x3 instead of 2x4 wood studs that I was insulating during a 1969 mobile home trailer remodel. Basically I wanted to cut a 6” thick batt of insulation into two 3” thick batts by “resawing” them to a size they don’t make.It worked very well and saved me from having to cut with a shorter knife from opposite sides and hope they lined up in the middle.It’s still sharp after many cuts, so I presume it will work for a long time for cake too! This knife is basically a serrated sword!

Great for cutting rockwool insulation
I bought this knife for cutting rockwool insulation. It the perfect length to cut the insulation in half and It doesn’t tear it cutting.

Long and sharp. Less blade flex would make it a resounding 5.
This is one l-o-n-g knife - which is exactly what I needed. Overall quality is great and it’s a sharp beast. Glad to have it in the toolkit. My only ding: a thicker piece of metal would boost stiffness throughout its above-average length. When used to cut cake layers, it’s a bit more flexible in the horizontal orientation required. Haven’t tried slicing a crusty loaf of bread with it but suspect the noted blade flex might make for slightly wonky cuts. Good knife but you really need to monitor (i.e., more than normal) how it’s cutting across its length.

Amazing
Yes, this is a cake machete! ! But absolutely the best cake knife ever!..Especially for sheet cakes. The lines were straight and no smudging the lettering while cutting! ( we wiped the knife with a paper towel between slices). Absolutely recommend, but you may need a permit to bring it into work ;
