Taylor 3506 TruTemp Series Oven/Grill Analog Dial Thermometer with Dual-Scale

After just a few uses, I was unable to read the dial. The clear cover to the thermometer turned dark. I'd have the oven light on, yet I could not read it, even with it sitting at the front edge of the rack. I used a flashlight and the oven light on- but no. I took white paint and marked the outer edge every 10 degrees, still no, because I couldn't see the needle even with paint, flashlight and oven light and close proximity to the front. Mine is a gas oven. Don't know if that matters. I gave it a 2 for its accuracy.

These thermometers have changed my oven game! No joke. Trust me. I was always one of those people who rolled my eyes and waved off the advice of anyone saying that oven thermometers were a must. I mean, I set the oven to be 400 degrees, that's enough right? Wrong! My oven is only a year and a half old and it's easily 25-35 degrees lower than what I set the temperature to be. I was floored when I discovered this! I mean, how could such a new appliance be so off? But it was. Now that I know that about my oven, I can adjust for it. Everything comes out better because I'm actually baking stuff at the right temperature. Trust me. You NEED this thermometer!

Works good, never knew the REAL temp of my oven till now, but l have no idea how accurate it is, doesn't match my oven settings at all but that's why l got it, things l cooked in the oven was always under cooked and took longer, now l know why.

I wanted to see what the temps of my oven were to see if the electronic gauge was accurate. I was stunned by the inaccuracy of the oven depending upon where you place the thermometer. Once I placed the thermometer on the middle rack where I actually do my baking, I was pleasantly surprised to find out my oven temp is pretty accurate. The thermometer is easy to read and that is a plus. I am happy with this purchase.

Well brought this to test my oven’s temperature. Not sure how accurate it is but I think is doing a pretty good job so far. My cake was coming out undercook and my breads too. Apparently it took more than 30 mins for the oven to preheat to the correct temperature. And I was able to find out with this little gadget. For the price of the thing is worth having it in the house.

I was uncertain that my oven was heating to the temperature desired so I purchased this oven temperature gage. I found some discrepancy in the temperature of my oven which was very helpful. I had some difficulty reading the thermometer as the oven was hot and opening the oven to read it accurately let heat escape. Going to find a better placement in the oven so I may read the temp more easily.

Most readable of the three I’ve tried, but takes a long time to come to oven temperature. Matches the temperature set for the oven, eventually. Same complaint about the CDN, which is harder to read. My old Cooper-Atkins, which died of a fall after long service, was faster, readable, but not as easy to make out as this one,

Kinda flimsy. Keeps getting knocked over and around the oven anytime I put something in or out. Don’t have a clue if it’s accurate because you have to have an accurate thermometer to verify! Duh! It definitely does not match the dial for what I think the temp should be but this is some fancy-dancy Italian range that doesn’t work worth a damn. It is hard to read with the oven door closed because markings are faint. Doesn’t do much good when lying on its back and it seems like it’s forever getting knocked over. Doesn’t really work for me and hanging loop doesn’t work w my oven.

This was a recommendation from America’s test kitchen, they explain on their site the company has changed the appearance but the rest the same. Probably why the other customer thought it was wrong one. It’s a excellent oven thermometer, worked as I thought, ATK recommended equipment doesn’t s disappoint.

Accurate, not expensive

I haven’t verified the accuracy but since I started using this my rate of taking either frankly raw or charred/blackened food out of the oven is down significantly so it’s doing something right.
