Works like new
Ordered a pair of front power door lock mechanisms to replace the failing units in my 2005 Rav4. The first units were not from Dade and the driver side made a bad grinding noise. Ordered the Dade part to replace the bad driver side unit. The Dade part is a much better fit and finish than the other parts I ordered. After installing the mechanisms my locks would not respond to an unlock button press on the fob or the door lock controls. After searching Rav4world forums it turns out that the problem is the rod going from the mechanical lock down to the power mechanism. This rod may need to be bent slightly to increase the overall distance between the lock mechanism and the mechanical key lock (the rod that goes into the pink bracket). If your lock doesn't respond to the lock button but will respond to the unlock button, try putting your key into the lock and turning it slightly forward, then press the lock button on the fob and see if it will respond. If the doors lock, then gently bend the rod so that the power lock mechanism can make its full rotation for the lock position sensor.

Replaced the one in my 2005 Toyota Rav4 after the ...
Replaced the one in my 2005 Toyota Rav4 after the driver door stopped locking automatically. It wasn't real difficult for a DYI type of person, I just did it by following some videos I found online. I struggled to get one of the metal "arms" to release from a little yellow plastic clip, but I found a video where a guy showed how to line up a screwdriver through the door and hammer it out. That was the only difficult part. The new part fit perfectly and the door lock works now.

Overall Good Purchase
It fit my 2004 RAV4 but the circuit connection was PRETTY tight! I almost thought it would not fit. Other than that it is an awesome value. Original part in the dealership is about $200

Rav 4 2001
Installed this on 2 April 2019 by my mechanic as I was not so confident while watching Youtube. It took the mechanic about 1.5 hours and I could see that he struggled quite a bit and am glad that I did not tackle the job myself, cost me $150. As I was not allowed to video him, I took a picture after he completed the job. He told me that normally it takes about 2 hours. The old part from Toyota was made by Aisin, an OEM.He was not sure the part I supplied to him would last more than 1 year as it has been known to last only a few months. The unit is working perfectly now but not sure for how long. I paid extra from Amazon, based on the good reviews as the are cheaper ones from other sources. In the mean time I give it 5 stars and hope it last another 18 years based on the OEM from Toyota.

Perfect fit for 2005 Toyota Highlander drivers side door!
Perfect fit for the front drivers side door of a 2005 Toyota Highlander! Pretty straight forward install. Works great and much cheaper than buying the whole door lock actuator assembly that Toyota tells you that you have to buy!

Fits perfectly, identical to oem, although I wish It came with instructions
Fit my 2001 toyota rav4 perfectly, the driver side power door lock stopped working. If I hit the lock or unlock button all the doors would lock/unlock except the drivers door (probably because the driver lock is typically unlocked when pressing the key fob button once so it will go out first) It took me a long time to figure out how to replace the actuator. Be very careful when attempting to do this yourself because the parts around it are very fragile and have a lot of moving parts. I wish it came with instructions but other than that I have no complaints. I recommend getting a shop to install it.

Great replacement actuator part. Fits like OEM.
This was a perfect fit replacement to the OEM. If you can do it yourself it will save you hundreds of dollars. A repair shop wanted $200 to repair it. You can learn how to do it watching YouTube videos. There's a good video on how to remove the Rav 4 door panel. However, there are no videos on removing the actuator for a 2001-2005 Rav 4. But there are many YouTube videos on a highlander. That will be the closest videos you'll find to learning about how to remove the Rav 4 actuator. A good tip is to video or take photos of everything (bolts, screws, etc) so that you can put it back the same way you took it out. Overall it took me less than 1 hour to install. I ordered another for the passenger side. Now that I'm familiar with it all, it should take me less than 30 min to do the second one. So for around $20, it was worth it.
