No batteries, roll great!
There seems to be considerable debate/confusion on whether these use batteries and if they are replaceable. After very careful examination, tests, and experiments (I'm an engineer) I have determined they do not use batteries but rather have an electromechanical/magnetic generator. So don't worry about the batteries going dead. This means that they don't light up until you get them up to a decent speed, nor do they stay on very long. They are surprisingly bright though (under the circumstances). If you are considering these mostly because they light up, you will probably be underwhelmed. But by virtue of being 3" in diameter, being made of urethane, and having proper bearings, they roll extremely smoothly especially on a hard floor but also pretty well on carpet and for that reason I strongly recommend them. They will turn your chair into a race car! Since the lights don't work that well anyway, save $5 and get the non-lit version.

Easy to install
These wheels were pretty easy to install, I thought it would have been more difficult. The wheels also rollich quieter than the standard ones I had on my chair previously.

Great! However there is a trade-off to not having batteries.
So far, so good. They're a cheap (price) caster wheel set that lights up when the wheels spin. They don't use batteries. My wife wanted these so I got them. I added them to a new chair, a Fantasylab 8247 racing gaming chair. Very nice chair overall with a metal base but it still came with those stupid plastic casters that are a point that breaks easily, especially on big and tall chairs.Only real drawback is even they do light up, you're not going to really see it unless you move your chair a good distance. The one sitting in a chair isn't going to see it unless there's a mirror sitting on the floor against the wall. They don't light up with small movements like adjusting your seat at the desk because it requires more to make them light.I'm not disappointed I bought them. And I know the handoff of not having batteries means it needs more rotations on the wheels to do it's thing. Then again, changing batteries would be rather cumbersome and also destroy the integrity of the wheels. You can only do so much.My wife has been using the chair for about a week now with no problems. They do their job with a smooth ride.I want to let you know a few things. No, they are not for Ikea chairs. Ikea uses a different size than the standard that just about any other office chair has. Also, they are best for hard surfaces such as a hardwood floor, tile, concrete, office carpet, etc. I've seen reviews on a bunch of different caster wheel sets but some people just can't get in that these are essentially rollerblade/inline skate wheels and are not for regular carpet. You don't rollerblade on your living room carpet, right? A lot of people complained about the carpet in the wheels too. As for any office chair, carpet fibers hook onto the bearings or wheels and start clogging stuff up. This is also what chair mats are for, to prevent that and give you a smoother ride on a carpeted area. As well as the plastic standard wheels are better for carpets because they're not hitting solid ground to crack. If you have a regular carpeted area for your desk or gaming area, these are not the kind of wheels for you. These kind were invented for the hard floors.Overall, my wife and I are happy. 4 stars instead of 5 just because of the trade off of batteries. I have no idea if this can be made better like having a capacitor built in as well to store some power but I'm assuming they can.

Smooth. Easy to install.
There’s silent rolling. They’re very smooth and easy to install. I highly recommend them.

The lights can be stubborn
Honestly a great grab on function they glide super well on flooring. Haven't seen any scuff marks while using (a genuine concern). Theonly critique is sometimes the lights don't want to flash when I roll which isn't that big a deal at all I'll definitely live this was a great buy

Worth it if you don’t want to clean carpet fibers out of your wheels!
These are great for hardwood floors and tiled floors but still not for any carpets. I got these after seeing the mess and hassle of trying to take the old ones off, then trying to take them apart to try and clean them if all the fibers wound around the wheels. So far I LOVE them and may get others for another chair with the same issues. They were so easy to install, it took me longer to get the chair onto a surface so I could take the old ones out and put these in. I highly recommend these…

Very Cool - Work Well
This is such a cool concept! The wheels work well on my my hard chair mat and are a little more "grippy" to keep from rolling all over the place. Installation was super easy. The lights work fine but it's more of a novelty. In short rolls (like around your desk or on your mat) you won't really see them. If you take it and roll around a larger areas, you will. I got them because it reminded me of the light up shoes as a kid so...it does the job but temper expectations. As normal wheels, they work great though!

Great replacement for OEM wheels
I mostly bought these to increase the height of my DXRACER chair as these wheels are 3.6 Inches tall compared to the 2 Inch OEM wheels. I'm using them on a office hard floor matt which is above hard floor.Installment was easy. Rolls like butter, although like other reviews the light up effect isn't noticeable unless you move the wheels really fast, more of a novelty than anything. Great quality, can see these lasting for years.Would recommend for the price alone.
