DLPIN External CD Drive USB 3.0 Ultra Portable External CD DVD Drive DVD CD RW DVD ROM Drive Writer Burner for High Speed Data Transfer Laptops Desktops (Silver)

This external CD drive is not recognized when connected to my Mac Mini (late 2012) running macOS Sierra version 10.12.16.When a CD disk is inserted into the drive, the drive would power up, a green light would blink on the door, and the disk would start spinning. After a moment it would stop spinning.The drive icon is never displayed on the Mac's desktop. The device is not displayed in the Disk Utility application.I tested the drive by connecting both the data and power USB cabled directly to the Mac Mini. I also tested it by connecting the power cable to a separate Apple USB charger.

This is probably CD player but it did not work with my computer for ripping CDs which is the only reason why I purchased it. So based on what I read about it as a CD ripper and it’s function in that respect- one star. It was one of four such devices that I purchased and all turned out to be several years old although you couldn’t know that from the description.

Purchased it to play movies on my daughter's Airbook. For each movie, it plays only about 1/2 the movie before failing. This is the only reason we purchased this thing, so it is useless to us.Edit 8/13/18. Also won't work with my Toshiba laptop...

Got it in the mail, plugged it in and POW!! Works great. Sure beats the hell out of spending a fortune on an “apple” brand anything. Great job

I have been using the external drive for about 4 months so far with no complaints! Very portable and burns audio cds and dvd's quickly with no errors. Love the product and fast shipping! A+
