Q: Does this 'disconnect' the usb device from the computer while it is switched to another computer, or does it stay connected?

Not an answer per se, but for those commenting that it doesn't connect the device to both computers at once, that is not what the question is about. It is about if the switch provides emulation (with null input) to the disconnected pc. If a switch provides emulation, the computers will never see the devices as disconnecting/reconnecting, when you are on the other pc, they will think it is connected, but get no input.

Q: Can you swap between computers with a keyboard shortcut?

With no Keyboard shortcut, I immediately started looking at other products. This is a must for a KVM.

Q: Is plugging in micro usb port require if i just want to connect a keyboard and mouse?

Hi Howard,Thanks for your enquiry.If you only connect a keyboard and a mouse, generally it doesn't require to offer extra power supply for it. Q: I have a quad monitor set with dvi, hdmi or vga output capabilities, 1 pc and 1 mac, but only 4 output ports. can i daisy chain multiple usb hubs?

Yes you can. I've daisy chained another and different brand of usb hub to one of the ports of the ugreen and items pull up with no problem. Depending on the power usage of the other daisy chained items, you might need another power supply for those (like larger keyboard controllers, etc.). USB Thumbdrives no problem.
