Salomon Men’s XA PRO 3D Gore-Tex Waterproof Trail Running Shoes

These are great shoes. I’m currently wearing my former pair into the ground anbought these new as a replacement because they are comfortable, durable, waterproof and easy to tighten because of the no laces technology.

Outstanding product. I've owned several pairs now. Steady as a rock. I've finished three rough-trail half marathons and all the training. No blisters. I did find Amazon's size recommendation of by 1/2 size. I happen to know my actual size in these, so I ordered correctly.

I had my first run in with Salomon products in Europe when I decided to try skiing out. Everything was a rental from the boots (Salomon SX91, the bindings were Marker and the skis were K2) The boots fit like a glove and there were no pressure points at all on my feet.Forward to 2024, I ordered these XA PRO 3D Gore-Tex Trail Running Shoes to try on because the brand I was going with for my duty footwear kept changing their design and they finally ran out of the model that I liked so I figured I'd try these out. Amazon has this "try before you buy" program so I decided to go that route.These shoes are designed for on-road and off-road as they have an aggressive lug sole that is comfortable and a reassuring grip. The shoe is built well and has a comfortable sole. The lacing system is different and it didn't take long for me to like the speed lacing system that Salomon uses for their shoes.These shoes do need a bit of a break-in, about three days.I was impressed with this pair that I bought another pair to switch up for my uniform.Mar 31,2024 (update) I've had these (I bought 2 pairs) shoes now just short of 2 months and daily wear and I have to admit, other than the fact that it's a little on the small side (it broke in really well) I am still happy with my purchase and they're holding up well.

Excellent hiking shoe! The grip is amazing. No need to break in, comfortable out of the box!! The quality and workmanship are fantastic.

I love these shoes. I bought multiple pairs (black) in 2024 just incase they stopped making them, or they ran out of my size. They fit so well. They are super comfortable, and so lightweight. They breath really well too, I don't want warm shoes as I live in the South East and it's hot enough all year round. I work on my feet all day and I never have sore feet. Each pair has last for about a year. I love the lacing system. They look super sharp. I think that they easily are a great shoe for the money. I have never slipped and I have worn them in some extreme situations. I will be buying a few more pairs just to have for the future. One last note. The only thing that I don't like. The inner sleeve where the heel meets the back of the shoe always gets a hole and wears out super fast. It probably has to do with the way I put them on and take them off. So that's not the shoes fault, just a small gripe.

I had an earlier version of this shoe, and I often would call it one of the best shoes ever made. But, two seemingly minor changes have rendered this shoe unwearable, and I returned them. I must ask, does anyone at Salomon actually use the product? My guess is no way, else they would not have made these changes.First, the more minor issue is a change to the tongue. Hard to explain, but the tongue is attached to the shoe up until the final cross of the laces, then it "free floats". So, the top part of the tongue does not stay pressed against the foot and instead just flaps around like a useless piece of material hanging out of the top of the shoe.Second, and the real deal breaker, Why oh why on earth did you create this non symmetrical lace and who thought it is was a winning idea? Seriously, the eyelets for the laces are asymmetrical and so when you tighten them, they put this ridiculous undo pressure across the top of your big toe right where your foot bends with each step. If you actually walk with these shoes for any length of time, you will find them to be the most uncomfortable shoe. Period.There is no way Salomon tested or received feedback from actual customers before selling these shoes. Please, put them back the way they were.

Bought the Trail Runners 2 weeks ago. I have flat feet and one foot is a little larger than the other. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I wear size 13 and I ordered the 13M. The length is perfect. My heals slip a little but I don’t see that as a problem. I don’t even notice it any more. My toes have plenty of room to move. The first day I wore them I removed the insole and the underside was wet to the touch as well as the inside bottom of the sole. I replaced the factory insole with a Dr Scholls insole. So far there is no wetness. I’m planning on using these shoes for my 500 mile Camino walk. I’m sure at the end of a days hike my feet will be hot and damp. I did part of the Camino 2 years ago (same shoe but an earlier version) and my size 12 was a little to small but I managed. No blisters or any other problems.I’ve heard others say the sides of the shoe is to high and hits the ankle. The shoe is a little higher but it has not caused a problem for me. In fact I like the higher sides. Better support.The shoe is a little hot but that is a good thing when the temperature is cooler. The Dr Scholls insole seems to have helped with the heat. I don’t notice it now as I did with the factory insole.The soles are a knoby verses the soles on my previous pair. See photo. Good grip.I really like the shoe lace. I’ve never seen this kind before. It’s a very thin one piece nylon lace. No tying. Just pull them up tight and adjust the gripper down. Very nice. I don’t know what you’d do if they broke.Another comment was that they squeak when you walk. They did squeak when they first came out of the box but no more squeaking once you’ve used them.I have not used them in wet conditions but I have faith they will keep my feet dry. I can’t wait to get on the Camino. The trail runners feel and fit great.

Ich habe diesen Schuh vor Kurzem für den Mix aus Garten- und Outdoor Aktivitäten gekauft und bin absolut überzeugt. Nachdem ich bereits mehrere andere Premium Marken in diesem Segment getestet habe, muss ich sagen, dass der Schnitt und der Komfort bei Salomon für mich einfach perfekt sind. Da ich meine Schuhe gerne etwas lockerer trage, kommt mir die normale Passform sehr entgegen, ohne dass die Stabilität darunter leidet.Der Schuh wirkt insgesamt sehr wertig verarbeitet und das Salomon Schnellverschlusssystem ist ein echtes Highlight. Das An und Ausziehen geht damit extrem schnell und unkompliziert. Auch beim Wetterschutz punktet der Schuh: Die Gore Tex Membran hielt im ersten Test absolut dicht, während der Schuh gleichzeitig angenehm atmungsaktiv blieb. Ob die Membran dauerhaft so leistungsfähig bleibt, wird die Langzeitnutzung zeigen, aber der erste Eindruck ist hervorragend.Zusammenfassend bietet der Schuh eine ideale Balance zwischen Leistung für Wanderungen und Komfort für den täglichen Gebrauch. Ein vielseitiger Begleiter, den ich ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen kann. Ich würde ihn definitiv wieder kaufen!

It was used for trail runs and found enhanced confidence and comfort,and goretex material lived up to its reputation making small puddles inconsequential. Although some Pasting of the sole came off in 20 days. However proactive after sales team did replace prompltly.
