Good light with 3 hour emergency backup. Appearance may be suboptimal for some situations.
This is the light with battery backup but no motion sensor.Slightly industrial looking polycarbonate light with 3 hour battery backup perhaps mainly suitable as a porch or outside light though mine is destined for the hallway of a cottage that will require emergency backup lighting for rental purposes. IP65 rated.I played about with it to check it worked as expected, which it does. That was slightly tricky due to the annoying, now almost standard, push-fit connections. Temporarily used thin wires that could easily be pulled out, connected to a simple screw-type block connector. It came with the connector ringed in the photo disconnected so I first plugged that in.The instructions are poorly worded but no problem if you know what you’re doing. When N and PL are connected it only charges the battery and the emergency lighting (just 10 LEDs as per photo) comes on when the power is disconnected. If N and SL are connected nothing lights up – power has to be supplied to PL too. If this is via a loop from the switched live then the light illuminates as does the green charging indicator but when switched off the main light goes out and the emergency LEDs come on - so if wired without a permanent live you need to disconnect the connector in the photo. Presumably that’s partly why it came disconnected. Also ensures battery won't discharge though activation requires disconnection from a connected state. If N, SL and PL are connected correctly, as they will be, with a switched live to SL and a permanent live to PL then it switches on and off as expected and the emergency LEDs only illuminate if there’s a power failure. For maximum illumination it should be set to 4000K, which is my preference anyway. When set to 2700K just the yellower LEDs light up, at 6500K it’s just the very white ones and at 4000K it’s both. Neither the 2700K or 6500K LEDs get any brighter when switched from 4000K.The battery, a 3.2V 1500mAh LiFePo4 cylindrical cell is replaceable and these are available quite cheaply.Overall, I'd happily recommend if the aesthetics are acceptable for the intended position.

Perfect to see during a power outage...
📦 This emergency light comes in a printed cardboard box and inside, you’ll find the light, installation instructions, and wall fixings.🪛 WHAT DOES IT DO AND HOW DOES IT WORK?The emergency light is designed to illuminate when there is a sudden loss of power like a power cut. It works by taking mains power to charge up an internal battery and when the relay senses a loss of power, it switches to the battery and illuminates the light.✍️DESCRIPTIONThe light is round with a convex, diffused cover. The cover is held in place with 4 screws and removing them allows the cover to be opened. Removing the cover reveals the terminal for the electrical connection. The rear of the light has four pop out areas so you can choose where the conduit entry is located during installation. If the electrical wires are coming through the wall, then there is a rubber gromet that can be removed on the rear to allow access.🙇🏻 HAVING A PLAYFixing the light to the wall was simple enough and choosing which type of light I needed too as you have 3 options:• Light is off and will only illuminate when loss of power is detected• Light is on permanently with or without power• Light is on a switch, like a normal light, and will illuminate if power loss is detectedDepending on how you wire the light up, determines what type of light you will get. Wiring only Permanent Live (PL) and Neutral (N) you will get no light and will only illuminate when detecting no power. For a permanently on light, you use the supplied loop to join PL and Switched Live (SL). For a normal switched light, you connect PL and SL.On the LED driver inside the light, you can set what type of light output you get:• DL = Daylight White 6500K• CW = Cool White 4000K• WW = Warm White 3000KInstallation was simple and straight forward making sure all cabling was watertight.🧑🏼🎓CONCLUSIONThis is a brilliant emergency light, which fills an area with light when there is power loss. It provides around 3 hours of light which is usually more than enough for the electricity to come back on and is easy to install with the included instructions. It is a big light, but I think it’s essential, especially if you’ve got young ones during a power cut…

Good emergency light
We got the light without the motion sensor and are very happy with it. You do have to read the instructions very carefully because the way you wire it will affect its functionality. There are 3 different ways of wiring it:1. Standard Light mode - wired to a switch, power goes off so does the light.2. Permanently on - Whenever power is supplied to it, it is on.3. Like a standard Light, switched, but it will remain on if power is lostYou can also select the brightness from one of three options, warm white going up to white, which means the light is suitable for different situations.

Very nice!
The media could not be loaded. Amazing and bright 18W LED Flush Wall Ceiling Round Dome, easy to access for power connection, you need to unscrew the cover, then unscrew the single screw for allowing the LED board to rotate which will give full access to the terminal block. There is a switch inside the light that allows you to select light colour temperature (3000K, 4000K, and 6500K) outputs, I personally used 6500K the brightest. The enclosed manual shows the correct power connection, however, if you are not sure ask an electrician for installation which is a very straight forward job!Very satisfied!
