Great cameras
Picked up two of these a few months ago and am very impressed with the quality of the pictures and video. No frills or crazy extras, they are simple and easy to setup. The video has no sound but that’s the only drawback to the simple design. I use them on public hunting land in PA and am hoping the smaller design will be less obvious to would be thieves and so far so good. I have dozens of photos and videos or hikers walking past with no sign of them discovering the camera. I have noticed deer staring directly at them so they must be hearing or seeing something, but only when they are very close. All in all a great little camera and a good deal on the two pack.

Awesome camera
This was the first trail camera that I own. I obviously didn't know anything about trail cameras so I took a chance and bought this one (Moultrie A-30) and I made a great choice. This camera is nice and compact in size. The cover door for the display and buttons seals very nicely. It takes super clear images day and night. It is very quite when it takes pictures. The strap that comes with it is long enough to go around bigger trees and it also has the option for a 1/4" bolt on mount. It has holes on the back to use a 5/16" cable lock to secure it to the tree to prevent theft. I would definitely buy more of these cameras. If your looking for an affordable trail camera that takes quality pictures then this is the camera for you!

Poor Customer service
I cannot recommend either of these cameras.Review on the 42I and A900i trail cameras. I will try to keep this as short as I can. The short story is I am disappointed with detection range on both of these cameras. Picture quality is very good. But what I am most upset is the failure of Moultrie Customer Service to satisfactorily resolve this issue.Back story….. I bought 2 of the 42i trail cameras from Amazon. The spec. say the detection range is 70 feet, but my test found that both cameras would only take my picture out to 36-39 feet. After talking with Moultrie Customer service several times and doing several things to try to improve the camera’s performance…. There was no improvementCustomer Service ask that I send them the cameras, so they could check the cameras to see what was wrong. About 10 day later, they contacted me to say they could not repair/fix this issue and would like to send me A900i cameras as an “UPGRADE”. I reluctedly agreed because I wanted a camera with a long detection range….not 10 feet shorter.I tested the A900i and they did take pictures out a little farther….. about 3 feet farther, nowhere near the 60 feet advertised. Customer Service insisted I again check to see if the “firmware” was the latest and try more “field” test as they suggested. Nothing helped get longer detection distance.I told them I has spent many many hours testing these cameras, and I wanted a full refund from Moultrie. BUT ---- they said I did not buy from them and would have to contact Amazon. This was now 34 days after getting the Origonal 42i cameras. I now had 2 A900i cameras. After more “FRANK” discussion and instanting that Moultrie give me a refund, they refused to do anything more.I tried calling Amazon using an old number I had but it no longer works. I tried to go through the return process but when I put in the original purchase number, it stopped the return process [passed there 30 days return time ???]. I spent a long time trying to find an Amazon phone number, this must not exist now.So I have spent over $150 on these cameras, cannot return them and don’t plan to use them. Now Good news ….. After doing some searching of camera reviews, I bought 2 of the Agitato cameras sold by BlazeVideo Official on Amazon for $124.99. The spec. say the detection range is 90 feet and they take pictures at that distance. Picture quality is “ok”. I have never heard of this brand, but I will try them out in the woods.

Nice little camera
I’ve had good luck with this little camera. I bought it for its size so I could put it in my pack and set it up when I find a spot that looks descent. It’s easy to set up and takes pretty good pictures. The batteries that come with it are a joke, put some descent ones in it before you set it up.

Works Well
I read the bad comments about this camera. I purchased 2 over several months and find them both excellent. Great picture quality, simple set up. Best feature is it is small and very hard to see. I won't buy a "regular size" Moultrie again because what good is a trail camera if it is so easily discovered.....Not Good. Buy the small one.

Good camera for the price
I have used moultrie in the past and have always had good results. You usually get what you pay for in cameras but in my part of the country camera Theft is a pretty commonplace. For that reason i try to buy lower priced units that are somewhat dependable. Daytime pictures on these are good but night photos don't show very well unless the subject is really close. Batteries hold up well usually lasting at least a month before needing changed. Good camera for the price.
