Minimal mouth and tongue burn while using
Excellent for polishing teeth, pleasant taste and minimal mouth and tongue burn. Also, the paste is thick which means only a small amount is needed on the toothbrush. I will continue to purchase this brand.

Noice
MMmmk.I ordered an embarrassing amount of toothpastes from all over the world. We are wanting something other than the standard fare at our local stores, so que the global quest for a posh toothpaste. Kind of silly, I know. Bear with me.Couto made it to my top three. Easily. They've nailed then minty bits, without being noxiously saccharine. Kudos. Truly. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find something mintier (I like it strong) than isn't gross sweet, but also actual cleans your mouth and toofers. Lord. The Portuguese have made a great product. And I'll be keeping it in my rotation with the other two I liked best.

Okay
Not bad but not that great either. It felt no different than regular toothpaste except for the taste which was different...kinda old world. It actually does not foam much but cleans well. The tube is small but the toothpaste is concentrated so lasts a while. I rather use a ADA approved toothpaste just to be safe and follow my dentist recommendation. Might not re purchase.

Very nice
I'm looking at different kinds of all natural or minimally chemical toothpastes, and I at least had to try this stuff. I waited a long two months for it to arrive from Portugal to Pennsylvania USA. From what I understand it is the same formula used since 1932, and not supposed to have any of the bad chemicals put in commercial American toothpastes. I think it's fluoride free too. I have read some articles saying modern chemical toothpastes are doing harm to our dental health because they interfere with our mouth's own oral cleansing process. I really like this toothpaste so far. My mouth feels clean & fresh and stays very plaque free for at least half the day. My gums feel nice and healthy, mostly due to my Radius source toothbrush, but PD Couto works well with it. No irritation or burning; the flavor isn't terribly intense. It's moderately minty with a touch of licorice flavor, very old-timey. The 2 oz foil tube should last a while, since you only need a small amount. I'd get it again if it was guaranteed to arrive quicker. Maybe as a special indulgence once in a while.

Clean and Simple
Great toothpaste that leaves you feeling clean and fresh without being overly minty in a fake way that most commercial formulas do. A little goes a long way is it foams up quite a bit.

This is the most glorious toothpaste of all time!
Do you crave nostalgia and beautifully packaged things? Do you hate having to compromise that sentiment for something that actually works? Well, good. You should buy this. Then, you will know how it feels to lick your teeth all day long and never feel plaque, yes, never. This is some magically fantastic paste. No toothpaste has ever done its job better than this one.Your mother might even say to you, "Wow, your teeth look so white!" To which you reply, "Yes, mother, I use Portuguese toothpaste that comes in beautiful 1930s canary yellow packaging. Originally, I purchased it because it matched my bathroom, but now I know it's so much more than a pretty tube. It was even featured in this falls issue of the Travel Almanac, the one with Bryan Ferry on the cover. It is a bit high brow, but why does that matter? At least I'm not one of those Marvis snobs."She won't have any idea what the hell you're talking about.

Not for me
It was my first time using this toothpaste. I wasn’t able to keep it in my gums for 2-4 minutes as recommended and I also noticed stains in my teeth. I give to stars because the flavor was not unpleasant and the mouth felt fresh after brushing. Happy to going back to Euthymol.
