Tastes great and cooks fast.
Tastes great, easy to make, goes with a wide range of food. We go through these pretty quickly and keep buying more. Sometimes seems a little dry, so we add a bit of margarine to it.

Wow! You all were right - this is great stuff!
First, my sincere thanks to all of the others here who took the time to post a review. I never would have tried this rice bowl except for the overwhelmingly positive reviews here. Even so, I really felt like it was a gamble. So I'm happy to say this stuff is great! I'm not a big health food nut or anything, but I am trying to eat healthier. I do like rice, so I was looking for a simple, quick, instant rice type product when I came across this.Yowzer! This is great stuff. In my 1100 watt microwave, 60 seconds (I've tried 60-90 seconds and all were OK, 90 secs very hot!) was all it took and I had a hot, steaming bowl of slightly sticky brown rice that was close to perfect. For the purposes of this review, I started out eating just the rice "as is" right out of the microwave. The texture was great and the taste excellent. Now rice alone does not have a great deal of flavor, but the subtle flavor was very good and exactly how I would want my brown rice to taste (slightly nutty flavor). So all good and I'm already thinking 5 stars for this rice for being so handy, convenient, easy to fix, and tasty.Next I was thinking about having some salsa and chips, and I thought, hmmm...salsa and rice? So I spooned some medium salsa into my rice bowl and stirred a bit and voila! A very tasty meal! I don't think it gets any easier than this. This stuff will make the perfect base for a variety of tasty meals and fairly healthy ones at that. (2013/4/28 Update: The Salsa Brown Rice dish has become a staple for me - love it! You can eat this many, many ways. Melt cheese on top and stir up, salsa, whatever you like. Alone it is also good. Great stuff! I have gone through a couple of cases by now and all were good quality.)A big thumbs up and 5 stars for this one!

Wonderful Rice
I have this rice on Subscribe and Save because I like it so well. It has a wonderful natural flavor, and it's healthy, too. It is so easy to prepare. It's delicious as an accompaniment for several regularly prepared dishes - beef stroganoff and stir-fry being two. I also use it to make rice pudding with raisins and cinnamon. My favorite, though is this one-pan meal:1. Brown half a pound of hamburger (or veggie burger) with chopped celery and onions until the burger is browned and cooked through. Drain grease thoroughly. If it is especially greasy I will drain the meat on paper towels before proceeding. (Other meats work as well - chicken and pork, especially, but use a little olive oil during browning.)2. Add a cup of frozen mixed veggies ( the kind with corn, peas, lima beans and green beans) and a cup of salsa (I like medium Pace best).Reduce heat and simmer until frozen veggies are cooked.3. Top with grated cheese of choice to just cover, and continue to simmer until cheese melts.4. Spoon some over half a bowl of the heated rice for each serving. This recipe makes three servings, or two for big eaters.I don't know what to call this recipe, but it is tasty! And soooo easy!Then-I can't resist mentioning this silly thing - the empty bowl the rice comes in is a favorite toy of my two miniSchnauzers. I toss it for them like a frisbee, sometimes, but most often they play with it by themselves. One of them enjoys holding the bowl in her mouth, putting one foot in the bowl, then skating the bowl around the room that way. Craziest thing you ever saw! The plastic the bowl is made of is tough, and doesn't come apart at all when they chew on it. Okay, this is goofy, I'll admit, but it is a way of recycling isn't it? ;-)

Excellent Product! Just, more than I wanted to spend...
These turn out super well! They are already fully cooked so they only need to be heated for 90 seconds. Other reviews mentioned they were sometimes dry so I did the same thing I do whenever I reheat leftover rice: sprinkle a teaspoon of water over it before I heat it up and it turns out great!I also really like the convenience of this item. I can take it to work or have a quick supper when I get home late, especially when I combine it with a ready-to-to packet of Indian food. Also, the prepackaged nature of this item helps me a little with portion control. Yes, I could always go heat another one up. But I'm more likely to stop when I'm close to full. So, why not 5 stars? It really comes down to price. Rice is one of the cheapest foods in the world. I get that the processing, the fact that it is already cooked, and that it is prepackaged is something I need to pay for. But the rice in each bowl costs pennies and the bowl itself costs dollars. That's hard to swallow. And it is the sole reason I won't be buying this product more often.

Great Product, very expensive on Amazon, cheaper at my local store (Costco)
Now, I really love this product. This comes really handy when I am making my signature chicken and brown rice soup and I forgot to pre-soak the rice. I just pop this into the soup and let it cook away in my crockpot. It is also great for when I need a quick lunch/dinner or for when I am making a stir-fry. I wish they packaged this in a more eco friendly container, but all in all, it is a good product. I had this on subscribe and save since 2011. However, I have noticed it has gotten more and more expensive over time ($17 in 2011 to $24 now) and the discount doesn't make any more sense. I still held on to the subscription thinking it is cheaper on here than elsewhere and the convenience cannot be beat. Boy, was I wrong. Today, on a trip to my local Costco, I found a pack of 6 for $5 (after a manufacturers discount). Original price $6.99 for a pack of 6. If you do the math, it comes to about $14 for a 12, as opposed to $26.40 original retail on Amazon. Way cheaper to buy it locally. Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription and I am heading back to Costco tomorrow to stock up. The expiry date on the locally bought ones is well into 2016. Tip: look for local options for this product - it might be cheaper.
