How can a tiny cold spot on my wrist/forearm stop the hot flashes I have been battling for years? This is crazy! I have been on estradiol hrt patches for too long, and have tried to taper off -- reducing stregth and adding menopause relief supplements (estroven, amberen ...) with no relief until now.I was skeptical and figured I'd try it for a couple of weeks and return it. I won't be doing that!!It was charged when it arrived so I read the very short and simple printed instructions and put it on. At the onset of a hot flash I double tapped the little button on the left for cooling. Immediate waves of delicious iciness kicked in. At first it was a little confusing. I felt I was kind of having a hot flash but was distracted by that wonderful cold feeling. At the time I thought wow, if I had one of these on each limb, and on a necklace and a belt -- this could work. I continued throughout the day using it. When I downloaded the app and looked at the options I decided I better charge it so I could use the All Night Session.That's when I realized IT REALLY IS WORKING because I had another hotflash without the embrwave2 on and I felt a desperate need to run and get it off the charger and back on my wrist.I have been using it for 5 days and 4 nights now.The downside is that it doesn't feel great to have it positioned above my wrist, but the band does keep it securely positioned in place. That is small price to pay for the relief from the torment of hotflashes though, so I unreservedly give the embrwave2 5 stars!Lol this may work through some kind of self hypnosis. I am one of those people who can't be hypnotized BUT I think for me this works because I become so fixated on the icy sensation that my mind overrides the hot flash. I really don't care if it's a placebo or if there is a real physiological basis - it works for me.**After using embrwave2 for about 6 or 7 weeks I need to add to this review. It DOES WORK just as I described above. The problem lies in the 'All Night Session' which is a programmable setting using the app. This session is supposed to deliver a milder 7-9 hour cooling session to alleviate hot flashes that wake you up. It only works for ME for about 4 hours, and unfortunately my 4-5:00 am hotflash still disrupts my sleep. After much contact with customer support it was determined the embrwave2 is still functioning properly. The problem was not a battery issue, it is a self protection mode to keep it from overheating, so it shuts itself off. There are suggestions to keep that from happening; not being fastened too tight, keep it out from under covers ... but those didn't work for me. All that said, I just skip the all night session and tap the button when I need. It does not overheat and shut down just from wearing it all night, it's just when it's programmed for the 'all night' session.

I wanted to love this product. my charger was junk after 30 days, so i contacted Amazon where I purchased mine since the prongs were no longer working when set on the charger. Their chargers mind you are $50..so after 30 days I was not about to buy a new charger. Amazon sent me to Embr customer service. I got an automated email, then 3 saying the same thing from "Chloe" saying they are sending it to engineering and yet another one asking me to send an email through the app...which is did. I sent photos of my charger. This was a week ago. in the meantime with the last charge I noticed my skin has a perfect brown square where heating and cooling square sits on the inside of my wrist and I am fair skinned. skin is also now peeling suggesting a burn...so with the ridiculous lack of help for a charger from this company there is no way I want to deal with the lack of help in trying to find out if mine is malfunctioning. I reached back out to Amazon and thankful that Amazon is allowing me to just return the whole thing for a full refund after the return window ended by a few days waiting for Embr to provide any amount of actual customer service vs unrelated FAQs and surveys wondering if I was satisfied with Chloes help...what help. Sadly save yourself the headache or hope and pray you don't need any amount of customer service. Eye opening also to look on socials and Google for the amount of people with charger issues with the poor design. For $300 I would have hoped for more than 30 days use without the ridiculousness they try to call customer service.

Update 9/2024: I still love this, but it had to be replaced once because it wouldn’t connect to the app, and now neither of them stay connected to the app. I still wear it because it’s great during hot flashes and also has the warmer function to take the chill off. It only works for the shorter sessions that are a couple minutes long since there’s no app capability. I’ve tried dozens of times to get either one to connect and they just don’t after a while. The original one got replaced because it wouldn’t stay connected and now the replacement also doesn’t connect. This is a functionality issue they need to work on. I’d still buy it because it’s an absolute lifesaver during a hot flash using the manual setting. But it’s disappointing that I can’t use all the functionality it’s supposed to have. Also, I’d buy it directly from the company because Amazon is considered a third party seller and they don’t want to honor the warranty if purchased through Amazon.Original review:This is a better purchase than I expected. It remains to be seen how long it lasts, I’ve only had it for just over a month. I bought this for support during hot/nauseous flashes. I will say that it doesn’t “make you cooler” or warmer, but it does distract you and make you more comfortable. I don’t really understand the “why”, but I’ve been using it on the all night cooling setting every night and it helps me sleep a little more soundly. I’ve used the warm wave in cool rooms and it’s ok. It kind of takes away the shivering feeling, which is helpful. I’ve used the cooling in different situations and I wish it would continue to flash as cool as it does when you first turn it on. It seems to only be super chilled for the first wave, and I want it to be that chilly for every wave. I don’t think it’s supposed to be that cold every time, but I wish it would. It’s large and could be a little more discreet, but I don’t care since it works. Overall, it’s a solid purchase as it provides some relief. I’ll continue to use and recommend it as long as it lasts.
