I lived in Brussels for several years. There was a Neuhaus shop right down the street. We were frequent customers. This product IS no different than the chocolate we bought in Belgium. It's just as delicious and IS a product from Belgum. This is a special treat that we purchase on Amazon frequently. Unfortunately, I don't trust the heat so we'll be buying our last box until summer is over. Don't believe the reviews saying it doesn't come close, because it IS the same and worth every penny.

These were a gift for my father. He's somewhat of a chocolate connoisseur and he ranked these among the best!

I've been eating chocolate for a very long time. About 50 years. It's one of my core skills. It's a big part of what got me through 8 years in perimenopausal h*ck. I like to think I'm pretty good at it. So please know if I say something like "this is some of the best chocolate I've ever had" that is not a thing I will ever say lightly.This is some of the best chocolate I've ever had.The box is a perfectly nice-looking box. Nothing flashy, nothing too far out of the ordinary, just a clean simple pretty box, perfect for gifting on any occasion. I guess if you really really really really love someone you could give them this chocolate. I guess I have to accept that I don't know what love is because this box is not leaving my house.The package insert unfolds for about 19 feet and details in multiple languages all the chocolates you may or may not have in the box. That's how they get you because I need to find all the other chocolates now. Because some of them are blue and green and pink and I want them all.But for now I can only talk about the chocolates I have. That is more than enough to talk about.The textures are exquisite. The shells and ganaches are silky, substantial without being too heavy or thick. When they say something is crispy, it is exactly that. Crispy. Not crunchy, not chewy, just a hint of crispness.The flavors are nothing short of fantastic. The ones that stand out in particular for me were the raspberry and coffee. The raspberry was bright and bold. The coffee stopped just short of taking over, which coffee can often do but it was balanced so deftly that even my husband, who doesn't drink coffee because he's kind of a weirdo like that and there almost wasn't a second date, even *he* thought the coffee nougat was delicious.This is An Occasion Chocolate. A birthday or wedding or Valentine's Day or wow-you-really-screwed-up-and-need-to-make-it-right gift. Or maybe the occasion is that you got through a whole day of existing in a world that doesn't always make that the easiest thing to do.Whatever the occasion, this is a good way to observe it.

I had a real box of Neuhaus chocolates for Christmas in Europe and decided to try it again in the USA. Visibly the same box was an absolute joke in terms of quantity, quality, and selection. The US version has 3 stories of repeating themes instead of 4-5 stories of unique themes. Why only 3 stories? Because so much space is dedicated to cardboard trays where in Europe the stories are separated by thin slices of paper. The legend paper is legit but useless in the USA as 75% of those items are missing from the boc. The number of chocolates is half or less of those found in Europe. The taste is also a joke and no better than any brand sold at Walgreens-nothing like the real Belgian Neuhaus. Finally, the price is a ripoff!

I bought these as a gift for my daughter’s birthday. She loved them and said they were the best she’s ever had.I have purchased these in person before from the Neuhaus candy store in Brussels. I was hoping they would be as good and happy they are.

I'm not a chocolate snob. I like nearly all types of chocolate. But, let me tell you, some are way better than others. Neuhaus is an example of chocolate far above the rest in quality. The first thing that told me this product was special was the aroma you immediately sense as soon as you open the box. I could smell cocoa and fruit and vanilla and a whole host of various wonderful scents. It was so unexpected. This wasn't from sticking my nose down into the box. This experience came from just lifting the paper cover from the chocolate. It was an enticing promise of what was to come. My wife and I looked through the little pamphlet that was inside the box which described the flavor for each of the 18 pieces and chose one to share. I noticed a very satisfying resistance as I cut through the piece. It resisted the knife, but gave way in a satisfying fashion. It didn't fracture but instead cut very smoothly. We took a little bite of our half and smiled at each other as we described what we tasted. In everyday chocolate, I overwhelmingly taste sweet and then a hint of chocolate. This piece was chocolate and honey and waffles. It was wonderful and amazing. This chocolate is made for sharing with someone special.

Newhouse chocolates are one of the best chocolate houses in the world and the way the box was packaged with an ice bag and aluminum foil makes sure the chocolates arrived ready to eat.
