Great writing, engaging story
I'm from Olympia and of a demographic that remembers watching the author's "Funny Guy on the Prowl" public access TV program, and has seen him progress from his menswear sales days to local non-profit event emcee and philanthropy leader. So I knew he was witty, but that's not always a guarantee of a good writer! Happily, Jerry can write. "Jobe's Daughter" is a great first mystery novel. The characters are well defined and believable, the mystery element wasn't so ridiculous to be eye-rolling, and the story moves fast enough with plenty of humor to keep the reader absorbed. Enjoyable and I'll try the next one.

Good first book!
I enjoyed this character quite a bit. One gets tired of reading books about or from a character that is too good, or smart or macho. Usually it's all three.I'm looking forward to the next book!

I found a new author to read
I absolutely loved the first book. It was so good that I ended up ordering all 6, I am now starting book 4. Once you start it's hard to stop, addicting and a fun read!

I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book! I am not a huge murder mystery fan, but Jobe really got my interest! He's a real guy with real issues as a single dad of teens, like what to cook for dinner, but is solving the murder at the same time! His network of people in his life is interesting to say the least! The writing is witty and laugh out loud funny. I finished this and quickly downloaded the sequel to see what happened to Jobe next!

A fun read
This is a really good read. The style is reminiscent of Donald Hamilton’s Matt Helm series. Just the right amount of smart Alec. Good mystery with twists and turns. It has a nice local flavor as he traipses around Olympia. The protagonist is relatable and like-able. I have the first four books and will be getting the rest.
