Authentic and quality
Authentic and quality brand. But the cap doesn't seal air tight, so better put it in a bag to prevent that the flavor escapes into the fridge.

Fresh Thai curry paste essential
Nasty. Smells nasty. Looks nasty. Wouldn’t taste it plain unless a forced to. But when I make fresh Thai curry paste without it, it definitely doesn’t taste right. So glad I got this and a little goes a long way so it’s cost effective. It’s probably the Thai shrimp paste you’re looking for. Get this if your recipe calls for it.

Adds the Exact Right Flavor!
The flavor that this adds to stir fry and kimchi is exactly what you want. I needed much less of it than the kimchi recipe called for! I could absolutely see this being good on pizza in very low amounts! I found out that it is not the correct shrimp to use on kimchi even though the flavor was identical. The smell was terrible, and I cannot be completely confident in the ingredients. This is a great product, but it is is difficult to tell exactly what it is. I recommend it if you are looking for a more punchy fermented seafood flavor than what regular fish or anchovy sauce would provide. If you wanted to homemake a Worcestershire sauce or really add some umami to your steak, this may be worth a try...

If you are desperate for the Philippine bagoong...
If you are desperate for the Philippine bagoong (fish), try this. Where I live, I was unable to source affordable bagoong even online; either it is out of stock or the price is ridiculously exorbitant. With this, just add hot water and some patis (fish sauce), and I was able to make a passable pinakbet. The smell, as with fermented salted seafood, is to be expected. By the way, also realized that artichoke hearts can be a substitute for bamboo shoots.

Great product, great price.
I do quite a bit of asian-style cooking, and occasionally need some shrimp paste. This small size suited my needs perfectly. The flavor in finished product is great, and the price was very good. It was shipped quickly, packaged appropriately, and arrived safely. Hubby is enjoying a stir-fry as we speak--very happy!

I lobe it!
It would seem that many people do not research anything before they buy!! I always buy this Shrimp Paste (it is actually anchovies) and the smell is very strong because it is highly concentrated, that is why it comes in such a small container!!! I put some in my curry paste, which I made yesterday, or I simply put some in a small Tupperware container and put a bit of hot water in it and let it sit to dissolve.......then pour into my curry. The reason there is no English text on it is because......it is from Thailand!! Anyway, give it a another go. It is strong but that is what makes it soooo good!
