This is without a doubt, the best pencil sharpener. I'm learning how to sketch and I don't have a lot of patience for sharpening pencils with the long tapered point that is needed. This pencil sharpener does a great job giving you a perfect point for drawing. It has a tip adjustment for the exact point you want, and stops automatically when the point is perfect. I'd definitely buy this again if I ever needed to, but it's so well made, I doubt I'll ever need to.

This is great, but I’m not a huge fan of things with cords. I wish this were battery operated and then it’d be perfect. Well, almost perfect. I’m an artist and I use it to sharpen my pencils (Staedtler and Blackwing). It gives a long sharp point. It’s not as good as whittling and sanding a pencil, but it’s good enough. I miss the super-pointy graphite, but I’ll take “long” so I can see what I’m drawing. It will also sharpen SOME pastel pencils, but is too narrow for all pastel pencils. That’s kind of a bummer. I can’t have it all, but I do wish this sharpener came with batteries.

I was out-of-the-box surprised at the weight of this unit! It's far more beefy than the Staples brand piece of crap I just threw in the trash at twice the price! Everything about this unit, the thickness of the acrylic, the weight, the visible metal, shows me quality! Second, I was surprised at first use. The end result was an amazingly long Derwert brand 4B pencil. It was Alice in Wonderful LONG and not weak at all!I'm pleased. I believe the unit will last. I'm very surprised at how long long is so, truth in advertisement points.
