Be patient with the installation, and follow the instructions before you get "creative".
The Vector Batwing Fairing looks great on my bike (2008 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600). It's not as easy as just pulling it out of the box and bolting it on though. There were some fitment issues that I had to be patient with and get a little creative on. The two supplied windshields fit fine, it comes with one clear (pictured) and one tinted. I chose to install the clear, as the brown/amber tint didn't look right with the color of my bike. If it was smoke in color, I would have installed the other windshield. The headlamp on my bike is stock, and that's where the fitment issue came in. I followed the included instructions to the letter, and when it came to installing on the bike, one of the holes of the bracket wouldn't line up with the hole on the bike. I had to remove the brackets from the fairing, and put them on the bike first. Then I put the fairing on the brackets. I used a 13mm socket and a 14mm end wrench to secure the nuts. I had to go through the speaker cut out with the socket, and hold a wrench on the head of the bolt between the handle bar and the fairing. I'd be lying if I said that made it easy, and I had to add a little pressure on the top of the fairing to get the holes to line up (bracket to fairing). The headlamp seemed to be causing the interference. It looks like the part of the fairing over the headlamp could use about an extra half inch of clearance to go on like the instructions state. Over all it took about an hour to install with the hick ups I encountered. I noticed that I have more wind in my face than I did with the factory windshield when riding, but the wind buffeting has ceased. It's a great looking fairing and I cant wait to get a stereo installed. I would recommend this to any one. I'm giving it four stars because of the fitment issue.
