I am very happy with this magnifying glass, especially because of how much daughter likes it. It is very thick, and easy to see through. It’s definitely durable, she’s been carrying it around since she got it, and it’s taken a few good falls. It was a good price, and I would definitely purchase it again. Learning Resources has a great selection of fun stuff that we’ve been trying out lately.

After I mentioned that my son got scratched on the lens of his magnifying glass the company contacted me! I was shocked because many companies do not care. Selene (the rep that I emailed) was super nice and very helpful. He got his magnifying glass replaced as well as some gator grab tweezers! The gator grab tweezers work so much better than the big ones. I hope that in the future they will package those with the magnifying glass!! The willingness to help and the actual care this company has for the young explorers and detectives of the world makes a difference! I'm upgrading my review to five stars because this is a company that I will look for to buy from first for educational toys!!I would like to mention that I really don't feel a "cheapness" to the plastic that people are talking about. It is hollow plastic, but it is not going to break. Recently my son dropped his on the sidewalk and stepped on it. It did not break or chip so that is saying something. The tweezers are impossible to break. They bend and move, but they will not break. This is a very good thing.Original Review: While looking for a magnifying glass for my son (so he'll stop stealing mine). I came across this... Now, there's a star off because the tweezers aren't great for picking up or holding things. But the magnifying glass was what I was the most interested in. Another star off because after 3 days of him using it (on everything) there are a few noticeable scratches on the lens. He might have put it too close to the things he was looking at, or it might have been from setting it on the table... Regardless after 3 days it shouldn't get that scratched up. But he loves it so much I don't care... But I will look in to other brands as well because this was just what he wanted. (To be a detective looking for clues. XD )

This is great for the little explorer! Both pieces are made of highly durable plastic that will hold up to rough playing in little hands. The tweezers are a little hard to squeeze completely closed for my 3 year old, but he's able to get it most of the way and has been picking up thicker objects, like his foam letters to "inspect" and move them. There is a ring on the back of the magnifying glass that will pop out so it can stand up, but he really hasn't been interested in that so we just leave it closed. The glass does magnify much more than the last one he had and he loves being able to blow up pictures, words, and faces to make them look huge! My 1 year old has even gotten in on the action and picks it up to look at things. The "glass," which is more of an acrylic, does scratch easily though. We've had it for nearly a week and it has about 5 or 6 scratches on it already. He doesn't seem to mind though and is still happy to use it to explore his world.

Over priced for what it is.My son loves playing with it everyday. useful and hard to loose because of the size. Large item for small hands. Makes a child focus to use. Great for sensory

My 4 yr old asked Santa for a “spy glass” aka magnifying glass. She opened it and said it was just what she wanted and that she has the same one at school. Seems durable and the tweezers are easy to use.

I purchased this for my 3 year old grandson and my 6 year old grand daughter took it over! She used it to examine sea shells. I ended up purchasing another set for my grandson and sent it to him. The tweezers are perfect size for little hands.

I reviewed several magnifying glasses before choosing this one for my 3-year-old granddaughter. It is a nice size and has an excellent lens. My granddaughter takes it everywhere. The tweezers are really useless, since even I have trouble using them, but the magnifying glass is great.

I bought this for my 2 year old grand daughter. She will get down on the ground to investigate bugs. She has been using a magnifying glass at day care. When she opened this package, her eyes lit up and she turned to her mom and said "big bugs!" She has been using it to look at her books and everything else.I was very happy with the quality of the toy. The tweezers are hard to squeeze but I don't see her using them. I really didn't buy this item because of them. I bought it for the magnifying glass.I was exceptionally happy with the shipping service. I placed the order and expected the item in 3-4 days. It arrived the next day. I would recommend this product and Amazon to my friends. Great quality product and service.

Enjoyable activity especially in summer. But I am not sure if the magnifying glass will get scratched over time. My child has only used it for a couple of days yet.
