Firstly... this scale wouldn't be accurate enough to use in a laboratory as you do get a small amount of fluctuation... However, it is definitely accurate enough for my needs. I make my own Masalas... Masala is a homemade base powder for curries and other spicy recipes. It has 14 different spices and is an Indian recipe from 1904... It is trully remarkable. It takes away my need to think about presents for birthdays and christmas because my friends literally beg me to give them this Masala year after year... They never get tired of it and you cant buy anything like it from the shops... even specialist asian supermarkets... It is labour intensive to make, expensive and complicated and each of the spices need to be weighed out accurately... very accurately... a slight variation from the recipe and it isn't right... With the high cost of good quality spices, a 'bad batch' will waste a lot of money... These scales give me the accuracy I need to replicate the recipe time and again... It has a useful calibration weight that I use before every batch of Masala... It is more expensive than some of the others that are available, but I feel it is worth it for the peace of mind it gives me... Recommended

I have rated this product 4 and not 5 only due to the size of the dish that comes with it. it's difficult to get much on the dish. I know these are quite fine scales for measuring small quantities but they are capable of measuring far more than the dish allows. otherwise seem very good so it depends how much you want to measure.

Putting up a review as I’ve been using this nearly a year ago and it’s been exactly what I needed. Very straightforward to use and calibrate. Some had complained about needing to calibrate all the time but I’ve found I’ve only needed to do this if I’ve knocked it about or mistreated it and when I do the weight provided makes this quick and easy. Not had to change the battery yet to happy with battery life too. It also disassembles for cleaning, though the grooves in the design means this isn’t a super easy process. Overall very happy

I use it to divide supplements for my cats.

Calibrate regularly. Do that and they are pretty accurate. P.s definitely calibrate if you have put something on that takes it over weight, or if you are weighing close to limit bits as this can throw them off. I like to use a coin to make sure of accuracy

bought this scale to weigh air gun pellets and does the job brilliantly, it measures down to the last two digets which is what you need, ie 11.92 foe example while others would just say 11.9, its a good product.
