Good but not great
The Good: Decent grade steel. Pretty sturdy. Upright posts are one solid piece, so you don't lose any space in the center where bolts would hold a two-piece upright together. Pull up bar. Standard dimensions so lots of after marker attachments will fit on stand. Lots of plate storage options. Plenty of room in between uprights when assembled which is great for squatting. Built in band holders. The Bad: Terrible assembly directions, but it wasn't too difficult if you've done this sort of thing before. But for the uninitiated, could be problematic. When you tighten everything down, the feet on the bottom start to bend outward and away as you tighten the bolts. This could cause issues, as when they bend outward, so too do your uprights. Could make things VERY uneven if you're not careful/over-tighten. You want your uprights perfectly perpendicular to each-other....not slightly turning away from each other,so use caution! They advertise the pull-up bar being knurled, and it is, but they paint over the knurling, rendering it completely useless. Has no *bite* to it, so no grip, whatsoever. I solved this by taking a roll of athletic tape I had laying around and wrapping a thin layer around the bar. Now I have amazing grip! I highly recommend you do the same. The j-cups and safety catches are a JOKE! The j-cups aren't padded and will tear up your barbells, the catches are far too short to be of any usefulness. I ordered replacements from Titan the same time I ordered the rack. Titan makes kinda junky stuff, but they are still better quality/work better than what the rack comes with. So, you'll want to replace those. I found the rack sits pretty uneven with the floor after you tighten everything down. Luckily, I saved the rubber feet off a CAP Barbell stand I had returned. I slid those on the feet of this stand and it make everything more stable and even. TDS should definitely address this design flaw. The band holders are a nice addition, but really aren't practical unless you bolt the entire stand to the floor, which most of us aren't willing/able to do. You could put a ton of plates on the plate storage to weigh the stand down, but then, what are you left to lift with? It's nice they are there, but I don't use them and honestly, they get in my way when doing movements off the floor, like deadlifting.TLDR; For the money, you'll be hard pressed to find anything better/stronger that also doubles as a pull-up station. The ability to add after market attachments is the real selling point and you'll need to do so to make the most of this stand. You can get a better product from Rogue, but you're also going to pay 3-4 times more for it. For those on a budget, this is the one.

One of the best, if not the best budget half rack on the market!
One of the best and most affordable half racks on the market. The white / black combo looks great and the finish is thick and not easily chipped. We're not a big fan of the J-hooks that come with it as they're not UHMW lined but they hold up well regardless. The spotter arms are short but do provide some reassurance, especially with decline angled bench presses. They also help when used as J-Hooks on incline presses so you can get better positioning on your bench as the floor cross-member may interfere with your bench like it does with our Rep Fitness AB-3000 and Inspire SCS benches. The pegs are great for adding resistance band programming to our press routine. Highly suggest bolting down if you use them, but we didn't have any issues with movement with only 105lbs in bumper plates on each side storage peg. Speaking of storage pegs, they are in a position that can interfere with bands or decline press, but we haven't really noticed any issues with them. There was one storage peg that was slightly to large in diameter which prevented us from storing several different brands of plates. We contacted New York Barbells and they promptly sent a replacement which worked perfect. The pull up bar does have knurling but it's very passive and the painted finish contributes to it being less grippy. The numbered uprights are excellently labled and the hole spacing is 1" for a total of 31 adjustments which is slightly better than our Rep PR-1000 and Bells of Steel Residential Rack 3.0. The gauge of steel is also slightly thicker which adds to the sturdiness of the rack when assembled and bolted down. All in all, this is an incredible half rack for the price. With the standard 2x2 steel tubing and 1" hole, there's a myriad of attachments that work from several manufacturers like Titan, Rep Fitness, and New York Barbells (TDS). Better than any of the Fitness Gear half rack products you can purchase your B&M sporting goods store for less money, you can't go wrong.

Basically I like it: it's heavy-duty and solid
Basically I like it: it's heavy-duty and solid, it doesn't take much space. However, this is a 4 star product, and I'm even tempted to give it a three, for a few reasons:The arms don't really stick out that much. It doesn't inspire nearly as much confidence as a full power rack would. Sure it's rated for 1000 lbs, but do I really want to squat my heaviest when it seems like I could miss the catch when pushing myself? It is solid but wobbly. It's just an inevitable part of the design. I wish there had been some kind of diagonal crossbeam, maybe that would help. The nuts and bolts all came in a blister pack, well labeled with 1/2" 3" bolts and 1/2" nuts. But that's not what they actually were - they were metric m10 rough 75mm (I think), which is close but not compatible. Wouldn't be a problem, except it shipped with lock nuts, plus bolts that were too long for the lock nuts. Rather than deal with customer service and asking for the right hardware to be shipped, I went to the hardware store - where they barely stock metric nuts and bolts, certainly not a set of 16. In the end it was a hassle and a little added expense. The weight pegs (there's four of them, two on the left and two on the right) are too close together. If you load 45s in one, you can't really fit anything large than a 10 in the other.
