It also serves as a nightlight for me. The directions were quite clear, but I had previously used one of these, so I knew what I was doing. What I like about this is that I don't have to keep it in a specific level of light because it has a light that is not only the appropriate temperature but also doesn't harm the leaves. The light is entirely adjustable, and the top may be raised or lowered as needed. There was no leakage, and the setup was fantastic.A water circulation system is included into this indoor garden germination kit. The plants will grow quicker than if they were planted in dirt. It may be sown all year without being affected by weather or seasonal variations. It can also be planted numerous times a year. The height of the lighting component of the hydroponics growing system may be modified for plants at various stages of development. You don't have to be concerned about the leaf influencing plant development as they grow taller. Make the plants develop in a healthy plants. The media could not be loaded.  Second purchase of this item. I bought my first one over a year ago from Aldi. It grew huge pepper plants that actually produced jalapeño’s indoors! I grew broccolini plants and transferred them outdoors in spring. I grew tiny Tom tomato and a variety of herbs. They all thrived through the winter. November to May. I am growing similar things again this year in 2023. It’s so easy to use. The lights stay on for 12 hours and automatically shut off whether I’m at home or on vacation. A few tips: Buy extra inserts, both sponge and plastic, Keep the water clean by changing regularly. Fertilize per instructions. Wash entire vessel thoroughly and let dry at season’s end. After plants emerge, Carefully cover sponges so algae does not grow.

The light rod is too short and my herbs burn at the top before I can use them. Exchanging the water every two weeks is difficult due to the way the device is constructed. Having to empty the water and refill it is challenging when there are all the roots growing in it. I thought the small footprint would make it work in my kitchen. But it has been disappointing. I'll be looking at a small Aerogarden.

husband was always saying at meal time- what this needs is fresh basil or fresh cilantro. Now we have it year round, so very cool, love this!

I had never used a hydroponic system before so I didn't know what to expect with this when I received it. But right out of the box, it was easy to figure out and use and I have since grown jalapenos, green onions, cilantro, and even lavender. Transferring them to pots was equally successful and I now have a thriving garden. All in all a great product, just be sure not to forget to change the water! I'm definitely going to buy another one for spring planning next year!

I bought this for my 12 year old grandson. It was an easy setup for him and his first hydroponic growing attempt was successful! He planted shallot and basil and was so proud as he monitored their growing process. He donated both “crops” to a chef at a local kitchen. It’s a great intro to teaching responsibility and self sufficiency. I would strongly recommend this product for ALL age groups wanting a successful growing experience.

I bought this product to grow some herbs and starter vegetables indoors and am very pleased with it so far. It’s easy to use, quiet and we use the light as a night light for the kitchen at night. I was impressed that we had germinated seeds in less than 2 weeks. It’s fun to watch everything grow and everyone enjoys it. Would make a great gift for kids or adults!
