Great Radio For Occasional Use
I purchased this radio for my camp in northern Michigan just to listen to sports broadcasts. Reception is difficult there but this little radio greatly outperforms the car radio out in the middle of nowhere. The volume dial, like the rest of the build, feels cheap but it works well and that's what counts. The sound quality is also surprisingly good. THIS RADIO USES 2 1.5 volt "D" CELL BATTERIES or an included AC cord for power. It doesn't use "special" batteries as noted in some reviews. For the price, this radio performs as well as my other emergency portable radio that costs five times as much and uses 6 "C" cells or an AC cord. If you just need a radio for occasional use or an emergency backup radio then this one is a great buy.

This is a great radio.
Can use batteries too. And has a handle!Great radio! Good quality and looks like a real radio not something that came out of the space station.I had a feeling this radio was exactly what I was looking for. NO multiple buttons on top to press by mistake. Or try to remember which one is for what.NO thin plastic-like antenna to hang somewhere (hate them). And this radio has a volume control to gradually increase or decrease sound which I may say is excellent especially the reception. I'm at sea level near Cape Cod. and this radio works.Easy use...plug in, turn on and pick your station! That's it. I'm a senior and a very happy one now.Purchased white for the bedroom and plan to buy the red one for my kitchen.

Little radio that plays out great!
Fits my needs. AC/DC. Right size, very serviceable controls. Decent sound. Reception is pretty good. D batteries make it kind of heavy but I'm not using those now. Tried a Jensen model first which was just crap.....did not work. Replaces a similar radio I've had for 40 years and hated to lose due to leaky AA batteries.

Very good analog, digital? radio.
I have a lot of radios. Some are analog. Some are digital. And some are analog/digital because of having a DSP chip in the circuitry. Nowhere in the description of this radio did I see any mention of it having a DSP chip but it seems to tune like a digital tuner. As stations are tuned in they tune in steps which is how DSP works. That is actually a good thing because if that's what it has, it gives the radio better selectivity when you want to hear a weaker station that's next to a strong station. Sensitivity also seems to be good but maybe because the FM antenna is about maybe 2 and half feet long? The radio also has great sound for music and talk. The volume gets loud very quickly but always sounds good. I haven't used it much on AM but I was able to get the local stations fine. Of course with AM you have to turn the radio after tuning in the station to get it in strongest. I also like that it takes 2 D batteries. On D batteries it should run for days/weeks of constant use or weeks/months of occasional use. Or just plug it in and not worry about batteries as it does come with an AC cord. I give it 5 stars for functionality and performance. Some reviewers rated it low but maybe I got a good one!

Batteries not included
Promised batteries not included. A bit disappointing, but we found some at Ace Hardware. Radio works fine.
