Pretty smooth finish. I sanded the edges a bit and filled in tiny imperfections with joint compound, then lightly sanded those spots. My grandkids will be painting the hearts white, gluing a heart shaped photo collage in the middle, and adding a black and white checked ribbon for hanging. The “love” logo is available on Amazon. Sweet Christmas presents for their parents! I highly recommend these hearts for crafting.

I just received these and they appear to be decent quality with very little imperfections in the wood, although they'll need some good sanding, especially all around the edges. What disappointed me, and it could be that I'm just unfamiliar with how these are typically measured, but I thought width by height was measured in the center, which would mean they'd be 7" at full width, but the height would be from the center of the heart (where it dips) to the tip (which actually comes out to be 5.5", not 6.5". So, they appear to be measured from the tallest part of the heart to the tip on a skewed diagonal, which to me isn't really a measurement. But that at least gives them a nice rounded heart shape. They should end up working for me, just a little different than I anticipated.

Work out perfectly for my craft project, easy to paint and lightweight enough to hang.

Nice size and thickness

We bought these hearts to use as a base for a set of figurines, and they are perfect. The workmanship is excellent, and they have attractive woodgrain which we are going to stain.
