Nice set, good quality material and fine workmanship
Nice set, good quality material and fine workmanship. Very good value.Reasonably light weight for its steel construction.Fine sealing quality too with plastic o rings to help stop the dirt from getting into the bearing surfaces.Easy and no hassle installing on to my older vintage road bike.

It works
If you have a bike that has/had a threaded fork assembly, this works just fine. I installed a Threadless set up on a Harper single speed with a carbon fork. After I purchased another Harper Plus which has a Threadless set up from Retrospec, I found that the carbon fork I had installed when I converted over on the Harper, does not seem to be an added benefit to the steel frame, I converted it back over to the original fork which luckily I held onto. However, I either misplaced or threw away the original threaded headset, so I purchased this one and without a doubt, the steel fork is better on a steel frame then the carbon fork.

Works Great!
This is a pretty good headset. They only downside is that the bearing cage only holds 16 bearings, which is pretty low compared to what I see looking around, most are 18 - 22 bearings. The bearings are 5/32nd size bearings. Easy to fix this by going loose ball.I had a heck of a time with installation because I didn't know that the cups that insert into the tube are different, I thought they were the same. I accidentally swapped them and it won't work this way. I finally figured it out and got the bottom on the bottom and the top on the top. Works great now.

Missing a critical washer
This fit my 1996 GT Interceptor fine, but it does not include the tabbed washer that keeps the locknut from turning when properly torquing the top nut, and therefore leaves a gap allowing the locknut to loosen. Will fail to maintain adjustment and therefore I do not recommend this product.

A shinny new replacement.
The lower cup was pitted on an old classic and this fit perfectly, works and looks great. Nice price too.
