This works great!
I already had the next size up that has the temperature control and when I decided to buy another one, that one was no longer available so I opted for this one. It only has two heat setting: Hi and Low. When heat isn't need it can just be set on pilot. I use this to heat a space 10 X 25 that is well insulated. When I come up here this winter it's generally 58 degrees as the heater isn't on over night. The other heater is downstairs so some heat seeps up here overnight. I turn this onto Hi and very quickly have to turn it down to low as it heats up so fast. I came up here today, forgot to turn it down to low as fast as I generally do, and it is now up to 78 degrees after about 35 minutes. So now it's turned down to pilot. That's typically how it has been here this winter where our nights have generally been near zero every night for the past couple of months. If you are going to be in the space while running the stove making the adjustments isn't a problem but you can't walk away with this type of stove as it will continue to heat and it can get pretty hot. It's like having a wood burner and having to chuck in a piece of wood now and then, or if it's getting too warm, letting it cool down for awhile. If you need one to have a thermostat on it, like my other model, they work perfectly, but this model doesn't do that. I had a Rennai vented heater here in this space for about 20 years and it finally had to be replaced. This model isn't vented, so you have to be aware of the potential danger in accumulated gasses. I handle it this way: I have a wall vent here and downstairs and both are on a timer. Up here the vent blades are smaller so I have it come on more often which is 8 times a day for five minutes. There is a lot of fresh air that comes through in that five minutes! It's necessary to have some opening to the outdoors though for the vent fan or it can't pull air through. I leave a downstairs window partly open which more than does the job for both the downstairs as well as the upstairs. You don't want the combustion gasses to build up inside your space. All in all, this is definitely doing the job, and for the low price is worth buying.

This is an amazing gas stove
We purchased this gas stove for extra heat in our house, but as an emergency heater if our electric goes out, this has a great heat output, looks great and efficient, it stands on its own. It’s energy efficient. It’s built to last the past we had this brand we used for over 10 years. This product works well. It’s easy to ignite. It has a dial to turn up your thermostat temperature. There is no odor. There is no smell and it works well.

Easy to install and heats the space very well
The media could not be loaded. It was very easy to install. I wall mounted it. The ignitor made it easy to light the heater or leave it on pilot to set temperature manually. I was surprised to learn and see the thermostat cycle the heat as well. The vent free system has no odor or black smoke discharged. And it really heated my 12' x 40' mini home very well.

10,000 BTU Just Right for My Shop Desk Area
I have an insulated shop that already has a mini split heat source, but I don't like the whole shop to be too warm, so I'd gotten into the habit of running a 500W electric space heater right next to my computer desk area during the winter. If I ran that 10 hours in a day, that could be almost a dollar in electricity. So I decided to buy this little 10kbtu natural gas heater to get some cheaper 100% efficient heat.I was worried it would be too powerful for my needs, but at 4-5ft away from where I'm sitting, it is perfect. Despite being a radiant heater, most of the heat does indeed go straight up, and only a portion is projected outwards. The heater is bigger than I'd prefer (quite a bit larger than an 18kbtu Big Buddy heater), but it is ok and the larger steel frame probably makes it safer. I'm currently running this heater with a 40ft 1/2" flexible gas hose, but a 3/8" hose would be fine. I measured the gas flow at my gas meter and calculated 9,932btu at the high setting, and 7,777.5btu at the low setting for this 10kbtu heater. This is with 6 inches of water column for the gas pressure. I do wish the low setting was a bit lower (5kbtu would be great). So given that this outputs way more than my little 500W space heater, I'm still spending about a dollar a day in gas to run this for 10 hours, but I'm getting five times the total heat output. I expect this heater will easily pay for itself this winter.I also like having gas heaters on hand for emergency situations where we lose power or a furnace goes down during the winter. This heater will serve that need perfectly and I plan to order a couple more (probably 20kbtu and 30kbtu for a whole house backup heat source).

Functionality
The heater constantly smelled of gas unless even after the valve was changed. It also would turn itself off if it was left on high. All of this was within the 1 year warranty

I disagree with most all the reviews
Like all Mr Heater products, Made of fairly heavy steel, large so as to disapate heat well! IMHO This heater is built well! NO, I am NOT getting paid to write this.Yes, very EZ to install (Forget those plastic molys), came with a mounting strip just scew the strip on a wall (I recommend; a good 1/2 inch or more sheet rock wall) and the Heater hangs from tabs which insert in the back, then screw the bottom on in place from inside the unit, screw the four screws back place that hold the front of the unit on and you're almost done, Still need to connect the gas.OK, come on Guys, it's Gas and no it won't just turn on like a light switch the first time but, once the Air is bleed out of the system... Mine seems to light first strike, better than a Propane Mr Heater big buddy.I've only ran mine on the lowest flame it will burn without fluttering and seems to do About what it says 250 square feet just fine. So the heat comment "10,000 BTU Radiant Natural Gas Heater", about right for 250 square feet. One thing, I didn't like is, the unit stays on, as in NO thermostat so I only run it on low low lowest setting!! I am NOT taking this back but, Hopefully I can adapt this to run with a thermostat which will turn the unit off when My desired temerature is reached.
