Chinese Mahjong Set, Mahjong Game Set with 146 Numbered Large Tiles (1.5", Green), Mahjong Tiles Set with Brown Carrying Case

I spent so much time looking for a set for Chinese Mahj and I'm so glad that this is the one I purchased. I already have two sets for American Mahj but I wanted a set with large tiles exclusively for Chinese play. I'm so glad I didn't get hung up with all the complaints about the size of the tiles. They're described as 1 and 1/2 inches. I measured mine and they are 1 and 5/12th of an inch - that's only 1/12th of an inch smaller than 1 and 1/2 inches and that is perfectly fine with me. I have no problem rounding up 1/12th of an inch. It probably makes it easier for people to picture the size when it's described as 1 and 1/2 rather than 1 and 5/12ths.The lettering, ink and pictures are perfect. I ordered it in blue and every one of the tiles are perfect on both sides - no scratches or smudges. There are Arabic numbers on the characters and letters on the winds so that will be helpful when teaching new players.The case is just fine. I've already taken the set of tiles in the case to friends' homes and it's holding up just fine. I don't hold it by the handle because it is very heavy and I can see where over time the case might not hold up well but I don't see that happening any time soon.The VALUE is remarkable. The price is so reasonable and the tiles are so beautiful.

The tiles are better than I expected. I’m a beginner, so I love that all the tiles come numbered. It makes it so much easier to teach new players.As the reviews stated, the rules booklet is written in poor English and not useful at all, but I’ve been learning online anyway so I didn’t mind.The carrying case is nicer than some of the reviews I read. I actually get compliments on it. Is it super sturdy? No. Will it hold the tiles if you’re careful and take care of your set? Yes.Overall, a great set for new and experienced players. Totally recommend!

Tiles are heavy and good quality, the star off is for the case!, would have rather had a strong plastic carrying case verses this fake plastic leather case. The first time I picked it up by handle the snaps which are on the bottom instead of top opened up and everything fell to floor , very frustrating picking up all these tiles! I just put them in a basket. My take away nice tiles good weight, but very cheap flimsy case ..

These come in a nice carrying case, and are super easy to manipulate and read because they're larger than standard American Mahjong tiles (this IS Chinese MJ) . I LOVE how the tiles, especially the "cracks" have a printed number for those of us who don't read Chinese. They are substantial and really attractive. I'm in an area where folks play lots of Mahjong and they always comment on how nice these tiles are.

Bought this as a fun family night game. This is very heavy to carry and the carring box does seem flimmsy unsure how it will hold up over time. The tiles look just like the image. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

For the price we are loving this! Case was pretty nice. Game parts were very nice! It’s heavy and I think that’s because it’s real.

The overable usability and the tiles are good. The only drawback is the quality of container/bag which is not that strong and two of the boxes that hold the tile in the bag were already ripped. However, I'm keeping it since it's a hassle to return and I'm only going to use it during occasion anyway.

Bought this as my beginners set. Wanted to be sure I would play & get others to play along with me before investing in a bigger name brand. These are large enough to read and have a nice weight. If you're a beginner, this is the way to go.
