don't do it
I know why you're looking at these. I did the same thing. I was desperate and couldn't afford the dentist so I bought these and turns out my jaw bone is very tough and the tooth ended up breaking and it just made the situation worse. apply to care credit and look for a dentist that accepts it and you can pay it back over time.these are a great quality, I personally have had no rusting issues. they fit in the hand nicely and are easy to use.

Self-extraction
Don’t ever, ever try to extract your own tooth. But if you do like I did, these are handy tools for the job! I mean, people have been removing their own rotting teeth since….the beginning of “people” up until the time of modern dentistry. It hurts a lot, be ready to writhe in pain for a while. But it’s doable for sure if you’re not a dullard.I sterilized mine in the oven before using them. I also put a small gauze pad on each of the beaks to prevent crushing my tooth. Do not put a lot of pressure on the handles; just enough to grasp the tooth. Grab it as low as possible. Only lift straight upward after you’ve wiggled it loose and do NOT break or chip any other teeth in the process. These are high quality and I’m keeping them for my apocalypse bugout bag.

YAAAAAY they worked
I do not recommend using these to pull your own tooth buuuuut they worked for me. They rusted really quickly (less than 24 hours). Although they aren't meant to use on yourself I did. They are bigger in your mouth than they look and quite heavy. Take precautions and protect your other teeth with gauze or cotton.

Nicely crafted, sturdy and a bit heavier than I expected.
Let me start by saying I am not in the dental profession. DIY is my mantra and getting the right tool for the job has saved me lots of heart-ache. But sometimes the right tool is in the eye of the builder(?!).I bought these to pull one of my own very loose teeth, but these are not easy to maneuver; especially, if bumping—instead of grabbing your own loose tooth is painful! Lol smh! I ended up continuing to loosen tooth by hand each day.Why give these a 5-star rating? What makes me very happy that I bought these? I put them in my tool bag! I have used them many times in the past couple of weeks! They are really heavy-duty. Easy to open and close in my medium size hands (excellent machining of mechanical components). And the etched grips effectively add to the force I can use!In my assessment as a non-dental professional, I think those in the profession will be very pleased with these. I can even see these being useful for veterinarians or animal care givers.I think you will find these are the DIYer’s BEST TOOL that was not-meant to be a DIY tool. I’ve been glad I added these to my tool bag!And the tooth? My dentist said I could pull it myself since it was so loose and not a molar. Well, after a few days of wiggling it, I took a facial tissue, grab that sucker and pulled it out!

Worked like a charm
Authentic review, I am not paid for servicesI got these because I could not get a tooth out of my daughter’s mouth that was loose. She is losing her baby teeth and they’re just too difficult to grasp, regular pliers, didn’t workWorks like a charm

Um, ya, don't try at home....
But if your in so much pain, this is the lesser of the 2, brace yourself and go, if you've got the will, these are the way. Loose tolerances, will rust immediately, heavy and large, but in case of an emergency, it'll work....
