This was a great purchase and just what I needed to replace an interior light fixture that I was not happy with in my garage. It was easy to wire and install to the existing electrical box on the wall of the garage. I like the fact that it takes up to a 100 watt bulb, however, when I looked at the description of the product on Amazon, it stated that the fixture will take up to 150 watts. That was the original reason that I purchased the light fixture. So, I was somewhat disappointed when I received the product and the manufacturer's documentation stated otherwise. Overall though, a very good purchase for my needs.

Like the previous reviewer, we also purchased the  Designers Edge L1707  to see which we liked better (plan to return the other). We agree, this is a far better fixture. Well made. And a bit more stylish. We're flush-mounting (with the supplied "box" which is *awesome* IMO) so gasket isn't an issue. We're also painting it white, and putting a semi-transparent finish on the glass -- haven't done that yet. Just now ordering the other 8 of these, but yeah, we like them a lot & they won out over the other primary choice for sure!If they offered other glass options (fogged / semi transparent), or they offered other color options, then I'd have given it 5 stars for sure.11/15/2015 UPDATE: We've been thrilled with these fixtures, ended up purchasing 9 of them in total and we love them. We spray painted the fixtures white and used a fogged glass / semi-transparent spray paint on all of the glass. Turned out FANTASTIC!! I'll try to remember to add some photos of our finished installation.In all, these are an incredible bargain for a very well-made product that we believe will easily stand the test of time. Definitely the way to go over the alternative that we tried out for sure!!

I was very impressed with the durability, quality and economy of these lights. I live in Ecuador so have to bring this stuff in by luggage for my house. Well my baggage was delayed for a week, the package was odd-shaped and as a result, sadly had the living !%&*@ kicked out of it. No damage to the lights at all and the boxes were pretty ugly after the abuse. That abuse was due to American Airlines BTW, I wish I could review those jackfaces..These have an industrial look but are well made. the aluminum casting is fairly rough, as if it was cast in sand. However, the finish is consistent and takes paint very well. We painted ours turquoise. I was astonished that they came with the entire electrical box and in the same high quality aluminum, with the exact same rough finish as the light. Most lights just come with the part that attaches to an electrical box. Although I won't use it this could be a benefit to those having to surface mount the fixture where a box does not exist.

I spray painted this gold to go with the room. The galvanized texture took and held on to paint well. It is a good quality light, heavy duty materials yet easy to remove the cage and glass globe for bulb changes (I put in a long Edison-style that goes well with the design).There was a mini hex screw (it took me a while to find a bit that worked for it) used to secure the cage. I didn't need the extra security (the glass screws on separate from the cage) or water-tightness so I removed it. We installed a pull cord switch because that is what was in there before so the wires are always live. It was fairly easy to do with a good drill bit and a $5 pull cord kit from the hardware store.

As an experienced professional, I was greatly impressed by the outstanding quality of these light fixtures. They were a pleasant surprise after all of the cheap, junk, import light fixtures that one sees today. I would purchase them again without a doubt. If I were to change anything about them it would only be the threaded holes and filler caps on the back/rough-in boxes. I wish they were made for 3/4" conduit fittings instead of 1/2". We had to use a reducer bushing to take our 3/4" conduit down to these 1/2" threaded fittings at the light fixtures. That is not a big deal but it is better to adapt up in size instead of down in size. Especially if one wants to maintain the same wire pulling capacity thru the box. I also wish they were available with a frosted glass. Don't hesitate to purchase these, you will not be disappointed.

Bought three of these and then spray painted them copper to match existing low voltage path lights. After considering spraying on a frosted look, left the glass bulb covers clear and am very glad I did. Installed easily on top of siding after removing existing junction boxes required by previous lights. Use LED bulbs with equivalent to 75 watt output which is bright enough for my needs. Very nice look for my contemporary home. Only one complaint -- one of the three shipped without the little package of screws for mounting, but a trip to Lowe's solved that. Should never be necessary to do that, however, so you lose a star.
